Framber has always had a screw loose, I think it’s definitely possible he respected Martin Maldonado enough to follow the game plan. But you can tell he tolerates, but doesn’t respect Diaz based on him going rouge and calling his own game. If he doesn’t respect Diaz, who I think calls a pretty good game, there’s no way he was going to respect Salazar for long
Reminder that Dusty enabled this by catering to Framber's quirks... (in a fairness, Hinch also allowed the personal catcher approach)
I honestly agree with this. What he did was horrible. Salazar could have had his arm/wrist broken. Will they do anything about it though? Probably not
Judging from Valdez reaction and him not even checking if Salazar was okay it was intentional. Somehow I do feel Espada needs to speak up and even privately advocating against this behavior and against Framber. If he doesn’t he could lose the clubhouse and if so should be removed
I hope Salazar buys couple of more years in the show (with us or other team) with this pro attitude. If he plays it right, keeps his silence and don't go later to b**** about it in social media he will look like stud dad compared to this stupid child in his fake hair prancing around.
Didn't the Oilers make the playoffs after Buddy Ryan punched Kevin Gilbride? Granted they flailed in the playoffs...
Espada shielding Framber would be more egregious than Hinch keeping quiet (which he was not) regarding Beltran.
Framber splits by catcher for his career: Max Stassi 0.69 ERA Dustin Garenau 2.00 ERA Garrett Stubbs 2.05 ERA Yanier Diaz 3.09 ERA Victor Caritini 3.13 ERA Martin Maldonado 3.20 ERA Cesar Salazar 3.80 ERA Jason Castro 3.82 ERA Brian McCann 4.63 ERA Christian Vazquez 5.40 ERA Robinson Chirinos 8.10 ERA Funny thing is Verlander has his best numbers with Castro (0.96 ERA), McCann (1.56), and Chirinos (2.58) for his career
How stupid would that be? You have no proof that it was intentional. It’s not like it will f*ck up the clubhouse next year. We have no chance this year without Framber.
Framber was flustered. His schtick is getting old. I can't believe this is the same pitcher that won 9 in a row I believe it was earlier in the season. Salazar wasn't expecting the pitch that Framber threw so he didn't catch it and let it hit him on the chest? Even if it wasn't the right pitch, not sure why it wasn't caught when it's thrown right at you?
Framber isn't the mentally strongest. I think that he realizes he's likely costing himself 50 or 100M in his last month or so and it's giving him brain rot and he can't deal. If I was him I'd go ask the Astros for 4/100 or something like that, figure that's generational money and this is a place I can do well at. I can't imagine it going well for him as a Yankee or Met or Dodger. Maybe he can go suck in Anaheim with Kikuchi where nobody will care. I'm still pissed about the Angels game last year. I also recognize Framber is an Ace, even with the mental **** ups. They are coming more frequently than before, which I assume is anxiety about his new contract.
