It doesn't matter that Yordan is 2 for 6 with a Bomb off of Fried

Fried is a lefty and Yordan hits from the left side, everyone knows you don't start a lefty against a lefty if you don't have to (says dusty and his protege)

Screw that. Yordan is one of the very best hitters in baseball. He hits lefties well.

Who can forget the playoff bomb off Robbie Ray - lefty.
Who can forget the WS winning bomb off Jose Alvarado - lefty.

    He plays against anyone.

I would assume this is just managing a player returning from injury.

Edit* I think I see the sarcasm now upon a second reading but I'm leaving the comment because I'm pissed about the situation.

Are you people seriously stupid enough to think they are sitting Yordan for matchup purposes?

His hand probably fell off. It was a good run while it lasted. Alas.

Why does a DH need rest? He only runs if he gets a hit.

Have you looked at the lineup? That’s not great. That’s not good. Average at best.

Yordan needs his rest, but he can pinch hit if needed. Stupid move Joe.

I don’t have an issue with him getting the day off but I agree it’s stupid if you’re willing to PH anyway.

Players on rest days almost always are available to pinch hit. They hope he's not needed but he'll be available in case it's the difference between a W and L. So 80% of the time, he probably gets the day off, and the other 20%, it's still much less stress on the hand than going through batting practice and playing the whole game.

All this tells me is that you all have never rehabbed an injury at any point in your life.

I understand that part of it.

Here’s the part that makes no sense…he’s available to PH late in the game, if needed. With this lineup he’ll be needed. So just start him.

If I'm healthy enough to have one at bat, then shouldn't I be healthy enough to have 4 ABs?

To his point, that’s not necessarily the case as we could be down significantly. If a miracle happens, could even be up significantly.

Just what Yordan needs - a day off. **** me, can we get some 80s blue collar grinders on this team playing with 20+ injuries and just pouring some beer on it
