Bang bang is a bit over-done. And I have a negative association with it, after it's done on our Rockets.

I don’t get the hate for Doris. She knows the game as well as anyone.

Doris glazed certain players way too much. It has gotten pretty bad. Lou Dort... anyone.

Some people said it could be the TV producers giving her notes, but that seems like an excuse if other broadcast people weren't like that. If it was true, have to have that self awareness on bad notes.

Think it was one/few of last year summer league games, when she did some play-by-play, and it sounded better than her color commentary. That might be more her calling. But on the b-team / c-team is fine, she's seems more comfortable with Mark Jones.

As far as women on the NBA commentary scene, there aren't too many. Sarah Kustok from YES/Nets network is very solid. Very professional. Insightful nuggets of info, and doesn't dwell on one player as game actions shifts quickly.

NBA should invest more in gems like Sarah and develop them on the local teams scene, then see if any can be plucked for national, but Doris ain't it.

Great voice? Neither Jefferson or legler have a “broadcasting” voice since neither are professional tv/broadcast journalists. They’re former athletes that received some tv training brought on to give credible analysis from a player’s perspective. But then again what we deem to be good is all subjective.

The whole "hotter than a bag of cheetos" or "so deep in his bag he's finding loose peppermints" thing he does has always been too cheesy for me.

Didn't you see Bill Walton or Matt Bullard? Cheesy is where it is at.

They were old school cheesy, I liked it

    Jones gives the feeling of

His brand of cheese reminds me a lot of Doris, it feels fake, 60 year olds sounding like they just rehearsed lines with high school kids and keep a tab of urban dictionary open just doesn't do it for me, personally.

Exactly! It’s not about her being female at all. Totally forgot to mention, it sounded like had a lisp or a certain amount of spitting naturally that caused it to sound like that. Btw the Hornets have a great female broadcaster, young and full of excitement.

Yes, iconic. What other sports commentator has a more popular phrase or phrases?
