If NBA Games gave a option to turn off Announcers voices. That would help NBA Ratings so much.

NBA Announcers are really terrible.

I especially don't like the Rockets Announcers at all Ryan Hollins especially.

Laughing during dunks ruins the moment everytime.

Meh, whatever. I only ever noticed she sounded competent. First-team, second-team, tenth-team, didn't care, don't care.

 

I don't think its just me, but I like a female announcer to both be knowledgeable and sound like a woman - like Jessica Mendoza. To me, Doris Burke sounded like a pre-teen boy trying to sound like Marv Albert - and failing miserably. It was always a mute. Luckily, with the recent lack of Rockets national games, I didn't have to endure her voice very often.

 

Finally I can watch and listen to the ESPN broadcasts.

 

She might have gotten caught up in the ANTI-DEI movement

She isn't completely going away. This is just a demotion from their #1 announcing team. Unlike JVG and Mark Jackson, they gave her a soft landing.

Now Dave Pasch will work with her.

 

It’s not that hard, Mark used to be ****ing annoying and everything I said about him is how I feel. He only got less annoying because he toned it way down with the freaking "Momma there goes that man”. It’s probably because he got fatter, so more out of breath and to conserve energy he just didn’t do his little bits as much. Also JVG developed into a much better talker, so he took in way more space and Mark just served as support. Hence, he became more bearable, but without JVG he would’ve terrible.

Only national commentator that I think elevates the product is JVG. Everyone else is background noise.

 

Yeah your attack on Jackson's weight pretty much confirms your gripe is a weird personal matter with a guy on TV you don't know. You just dont like the way he looks & it bothers you, just say that

Universally despised? Dude his phrases "Hand down man down" & "Mamma there goes that man" are iconic in the basketball world. Mark Jackson is lendendary as a commentator. You're simply projecting your personal hatred for this guy because of his appearance

 

Whatever floats your boat. I saw plenty of people hating how he used it so often. Just because you liked it, doesn’t mean it was legendary.

 

I personally hate "BANG! BAAANG!" when someone makes a jump shot. I guess we all hate something. Doris is fine but has the personality of a librarian. Anything for more personality in broadcasting.

 

Yeah at this point none of the typical catch phrases or over the top reactions to every single dunk or three pointer do it for me. Especially because these ****ing idiots have started to count every bang and now there’s discussions about how he never BANGed a certain player(‘s shot). Same for things like “jackhammer”, “sucking gravity out of the building” type of statements by Harlan. Give me natural excitement where they just use whatever comes to them.
