I'll concede that Bayindir was weak on that corner...but he was also shoved into the back of the net. I'm more disappointed that United didn't use the same strategy on Raya. The play on Cunha should've been a pk, too.

Bruno is the ultimate warrior. He'll play 90 minutes wherever they want him and he'll generally do it well. We need a 6 in the worst way, though. Casemiro and Ugarte aren't it and Mainoo is more of a Bruno type. Wish we could've pulled off Baleba from Brighton but it doesn't appear that's possible. But none of that matters if we're still going out there with either Bayindir or Ohnono. It's really hard to play proper defense if you have no confidence in your keeper. You can't deny every single shot but that's what you try to do when you have a crap goalie. Only leads to more mistakes and more goals.

Solid start into the new season. I think the title race will be a no contest again, still a lot of interesting stories around the league. Happy that Köln and Hamburg, two big clubs with a lot of tradition and huge fanbases, are back.

Man U beaten on PKs by a team 60 spots below them in the 4th division.

I hate PKs....it was like 12-11 on PKs

And Amorin needs to use his creative midfielders...there were ZERO creators on the pitch at the start, his creative mids are

    Fernandez
    Mount
    Mainoo

That's it, you should be playing 2 of those every game.

At least United won't have to worry about today's Champions League draw.

REALLY hoping it's Bayern @ Arsenal for MD1 because that's when I'll be in London.

I have nothing to say about United yesterday. I'm going to see them play City and Chelsea and I can't back out of the tickets now.

Good draw for Bayern. Chance to beat up not one but two London teams, always a pleasure. Kane will look forward to those. Also happy the guys don't have to travel to the Chinese border for an away match mid season.

Fingers crossed for you, even though I hope we are playing the top teams later, when Musiala and Davies will be back. Schedule will be out on Saturday.

In other news, Newcastle just signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart for 90M€. This is one of the moments when you realise things have gotten out of control. Woltemade is a good young player, huge upside, unique skillset... but to pay that much for a guy that hasn't even played a full good season yet? Stuttgart didn't even nominate him for their Champions League squad last season.
Really wished the PL bubble would burst some time, but I'm afraid things will even get worse. This **** is ruining the game. Only hope is some sort of working FFP.

Newcastle panicked. They can't get Isak back in line and they've been rejected over and over. The simply paid a price Stuttgart couldn't refuse.

The annoying point: It doesn't even matter if he fails. They will just buy the next guy for 100M.

That's the great thing about being state owned. Though it sounds like Liverpool is going to make an improved offer for Isak which will be a PL record.

Bad news for you @leroy - Arsenal won't be in town on Sep 16. But there are plenty of other CL games in England that week: Villareal @ Tottenham, Atlético @ Liverpool, Barcelona @ Newcastle and Napoli @ City. Maybe you'll find a way to attend one of these.

Bayern will start at home versus Chelsea, will have an insider in loanee Nicolas Jackson.

Rueban Amorin is not good enough.

I know. We joked around this morning about going to Bilbao. It's more about going to Arsenal than going to a CL game. I already have 3 matches scheduled so we'll stick with that plan...and then go by Emirates and leave some ashes there.

    Ruben Amorim.

He maybe over his head but the players are no help. The marking on crosses is shocking...but not as shocking as the goalkeeping. Hopefully they get this kid from Royal Antwerp signed before the end of the window.

The offense will come once Sesko starts (and now once Cunha is healthy...hopefully the international break is long enough for him). Mbuemo was exactly what we paid for today. Powerful runs and creating chances. Amad looked better, even if he missed a sitter. This game should've been put away in the 1st half but they let Burnley hang around. Can't let Premier League teams hang around because they're all good enough to get back into the game if you give them the confidence. That's what United hasn't done for a few years. They haven't put their foots on the opposition's throat early and often. I can't remember the last time we won a PL game by 3 or 4 or more goals.

I just think he is so stuck to his system that he is letting very good talent just go, because they want to play elsewhere, Fergie would change things up, and move players around.

We don't have a lot of creative mids, 2 in Bruno and Mount, maybe Mainoo but that is it......when you don't start a passer in the midfield no one moves, no one passes the offense dies.

And our D, is ****, our GKs are trash - I don't care if a GK can play it out of the back, I want him to be a wall first and foremost.

I don't think Amorin will last all that long, he doesn't have the Phil Jackson coaching or pyschology.

Since you are talking about managing United: two of your former coaches have been sacked this week and Ten Hag is already on thin ice in Leverkusen. Not sure anyone will touch that cursed job ever again.

I don’t think you can pin Morinho’s sacking on having coached United. Jose is Jose. He’s always going to burn everything down.

Ole just isn’t a great manager.

Holy crap what a goal. Can't strike a free kick any better than that.
