10% rise in prices for PepsiCo concentrates because of the aluminum tariffs on the canisters. That means prices at convenience stores and fast food joints will go up and maybe for bottled products as well. Includes Pepsi, Starry, and Mountain Dew. The increased cost of Gatorade bottles will also be passed on.

Related, Monster drinks are also increasing in price.

Why is this stuff accepted and supported by Trumpers? Why is it ok to pay more for groceries now than last year when Biden was in office? It makes no sense.

STEALING from the American people to pay off billionaire buddies who own private prisons and other businesses.

This is the greatest fleecing of American wealth in history.

I asked a maga acquaintance and he swears prices are lower, I asked him how he came to that conclusion as I showed him my own experience on things like steak and fruits and veggies going up 38%.......he said fox said they were down. Deb, how do you try and rationalize with these folks. This is where politics have changed in my lifetime, the maga base simply will not think for themselves, they will believe whatever they are told. Its the same way with gerrymandering, Cali fights back and wheels shouts out how its illegal and he will sue........like dude, you're doing the EXACT same thing. I really hate calling them a cult but I don't want to call then dumb f***s. I used to think the real maga folks would bend when they were affected but I dont think thats the case, they would rather support him even though his policies screw them...................its bizzaro world

I think it is important to understand the power of social media, right wing echo chambers, and confirmation bias. That is useful and important context.

But, when people are presented factual information and choose to believe in lies and fairy tales, it is fair to call them dumb f-cks.

Perhaps it is less than kind.

It is certainly not a means through which we can persuade anyone, if that’s the desired objective.

But we have to live around and near these people, and are trapped in a group project with these dumb f-cks. In order for the rest of us to function, we sure better understand what we are dealing with.

And no, I’m not talking about all republicans or conservatives. Not at all. The criteria is whether you can process factual information and account for that in your views of what’s going on in the world. If not, well, dumb f-ck it is.

Financial disclosures released in August 2025 reveal that President Donald Trump has invested over $100 million in bonds since taking office in January 2025. These investments include:
    • Corporate Bonds: From major companies such as Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Meta, Qualcomm, The Home Depot, T-Mobile USA, and UnitedHealth Group.
    • Municipal Bonds: Issued by cities, states, counties, school districts, and other entities.
The disclosed filings, covering the period from January 21st to August 1st, show nearly 700 individual bond purchases.
Executive orders and potential conflicts of interest
During the same period, President Trump has issued several executive orders with potential implications for the financial markets, including:
    • Order to Expand 401(k) Investment Options: This order allows 401(k) retirement plans to invest in alternative assets such as private equity, real estate, and digital assets (including cryptocurrency). It directs the Department of Labor, Treasury, and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to update their rules to facilitate access to these assets. The order also directs the SEC to consider revising the definitions of "accredited investor" and "qualified purchaser" to expand access to alternative assets for plan participants in defined contribution plans. This move is expected to open up a significant new pool of retirement money for alternative asset managers.
    • Order Guaranteeing Fair Banking: This order aims to combat politicized or unlawful "debanking" by directing federal banking regulators to remove reputational risk and other equivalent concepts from their guidance and examination materials. It also instructs the Small Business Administration to require financial institutions under its jurisdiction to reinstate clients denied services due to unlawful debanking and directs the Treasury Secretary to develop a comprehensive strategy to combat politicized debanking.
    • Order to Remove Regulatory Burdens on Retirement Accounts: This order aims to allow American workers' retirement accounts to invest in alternative assets, such as private equity, real estate, and digital assets, in order to achieve stronger and more financially secure retirement outcomes. According to The White House (.gov).
Critics have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, arguing that the timing of President Trump's bond investments and executive orders creates an appearance of market manipulation or insider trading, particularly given his history of not placing his assets in a blind trust while in office. However, a senior White House official stated that independent financial managers made the bond purchases using programs that replicate recognized indexes, and neither Trump nor his family members made the investment decision....

TRUMP has been profiting on his own orders.....he needs to be tried for treason.....the guy is doing impeachable bullshit, who cares what his MORONIC followers think they aren't industry leaders anyway.

That's so stupid. If they want to save money they should eat breakfast at home. Oatmeal, grits, tortillas, potatoes, and bread are cheap. Same for lunches and dinners. It's much cheaper to pack a lunch for work. Soup and sandwiches are cheap. The lazy have no right to complain. All they have to do is quit supporting the businesses ripping them off and make the food themselves.

Outrage? I'm not outraged and at all. I volunteered for the Harris campaign and donated to various congressional seats. I did my part in trying to defeat Trump. I'm just watching the country implode from the outside.

The people responsible are all those clowns who white washed Trump and enabled facism. The time to defeat facism is before they get into power.
