Coming soon. They are hiring safety monitors and waiting on permits.

There are several people on YouTube and X that have demonstrated FSD doing very well in very bad Manhattan traffic situations for extended periods of time.

Got a Cadillac Optiq for my sister.

Pretty nice comfy car. It's the upscale version of the Equinox EV.
    Quiet. Smooth. Spacious.
And a killer lease deal for 2 years / 10K.

Speaking of this, we just leased another Model Y for my wife earlier this month. Comes with a month of free FSD (AI4). So I finally got to compare 13.2.9 to my 2018 Model 3 (HW3) with 12.6.4.

It's a nice jump. I'm tempted to trade my car in and lease a used (newer) Model 3 with AI4 and transfer my paid for FSD to it. Some of the deals available right now are crazy good.

What does this mean in laymans/practical terms?

This isn't a 220 or 221, whatever it takes, kind of situation?

There are different generations of FSD hardware. My 2018 car has hardware 3 (HW3). AI4 was introduced in 2023. Last fall, AI4 vehicles advanced to a superior version of software (v.13). HW3 Teslas remain on v.12.

V.12 was a massive leap forward. Once introduced, it rapidly iterated into a great product. I went from using FSD 1% of the time to 98% of the time. It's amazing. After being a hard core FSD skeptic, v.12.6 convinced me Tesla would likely be able to offer robotaxi service eventually.

I tested the latest v.13 yesterday on my wife's new car (1 free month of free FSD) and was very impressed. V.14 will be released in a few weeks. It is supposed to iterate into the biggest ever version over version jump ever.

Despite Tesla’s recent launch of a small-scale, invite-only robotaxi service in Austin, Texas (and a similarly small ride-hail service in San Francisco), and Musk’s boasting about how good the technology is, Hill said that safety drivers still have to “periodically” intervene and take control of the vehicles.

    I'm shocked! Shocked, I say!

Yea but I don't think they have released the newest version of FSD with all the new training and corrections. So, look out (both literally and not literally)! I don't think it's been released yet but supposed to fix however many problems in the Austin testing.

for how long they have been running these cars in the tunnel, why are they not FSD yet?
Is that not the most controlled environment?

he's done with "competition is coming".
he's moved on to LIDAR jokes. anytime waymo has a mishap the tesla shills will make a lidar joke.

All I know from the real world is one company is doing 1000s of a rides a day. lidar, smchidar who cares..
Another company is doing pen!s maps (actually very fitting) to give influencers rides.

When hopes and dreams actually become a true FSD commercial service, we can see which approach was better. If anything I am betting on Tesla since I am holding shares.

The Chevy Blazer and Equinox EVs are selling well.

If anyone thought the $100K hummer EV was going to sell more than a handful, they are idiots.
