Please limit talk in this thread to this series. Other topics should be discussed in the appropriate threads. Play-by-play is not allowed. If you need that, there are other places to find it. Political discussions belong in the D&D forum not in here. All games are broadcast on Space City Network unless otherwise noted.

First, so Astros remain first place.

Angels offense isn't good, but they hit HRs. Beware of that and avoid walks (looking at you Javier).

Split sucks. Win the series (would put Astros 500 since ASB)

Every start by Arrighetti and Javier is crucial. One of those 2 guys must show they can confidently be tagged to start Game 3 of a playoff series (especially since they aren’t putting Blubaugh in the rotation).

I wish they would stop pitching Hunter on 4 days rest. I realize that is considered "regular rest" but its the last month of a long season and if he's hurt or tired the season is over.

They need to hold him back to Monday.

Blubaugh is on the active roster and has not pitched since Sat the 23rd.

Start him Sunday on 7 days rest and Brown Monday on 5.

    I guess it's a good thing that they don't.

I'm hoping for 3/4 and GREAT outings by Javier and Arrighetti. Also Hunter needs a rebound after that embarrassing loss to the Rockies (the one game this year I've attended in Houston)

Hunter has had a couple of good starts recently, but he’s not the same as 1st half Hunter.

That's what I thought they would do. Hold him out until Monday.

Let me see if this has to do with the Seattle series. Brb.

There would need to be some more finagling for Brown and Valdez to both pitch vs Seattle. It does line them both up to pitch vs Texas in both the road and home series coming up. But only Brown in the Seattle series.

If they want Brown and Valdez to both pitch vs. Seattle, it can easily be done. I'd imagine they make that happen but who knows.

Ok, so it does appear it's a genius plan by Espada for lining up his pitchers perfectly for both Texas series and the Seattle series and also rested perfectly for the playoffs for Brown and Valdez.

    Yankees (Valdez, Alexander, Javier)
    Texas (Brown, Arrighetti, Valdez)
    Toronto (Alexander, Javier, Brown)
    Atlanta (Arrighetti, Valdez, Alexander)
    Texas (Javier, Brown, Alexander)
    Seattle (Valdez, Javier, Brown)
    Oakland (Arrighetti, Alexander, Valdez)
    Los Angeles (Brown, Javier, Arrighetti)

That sets up the playoff rotation perfectly with Valdez, Brown, Javier and Arrighetti with about a week off from their last start in the regular season).

Brown would have to flip flop with Arrighetti for the Rangers series in order for it to land perfectly. We will find out the answer once the Friday starter for Texas is announced. But if Brown is starting Friday, then that's the end game for Espada. You diabolical son of a birch.

Dubon getting way too much playing time. I’d rather see melton try to break out

Sanchez in the lineup vs a lefty

really no point for Chas to be on this team anymore

Melton is what Adam Everett would have been if he wasn't such a good hitter. I can't imagine anyone wanting to see any more of him.
