The four episodes of Wednesday S2P1 finished stronger than it started. It was good enough that I'll finish the second part when it's released next week.
Been home with COVID since Friday. My wife has been watching tennis non stop. She has it too. But I have snuck away and watched 4 episodes of Zero Day. It's kept me interested. Let's see how it finishes
standard ESPN's coverage of the open, at least during the day, sucks so much. no continuity, can't watch an entire match from start to finish. i'm sure the new app is better, but i'm not paying $30/month just for espn.
Been watching Invasion. Forced myself to watch season 1 just to get to the better season 2. Holy crap, never needed a skip button more. Season 1 should have been 5 episodes instead of 10 at the rate I was skipping. That being said, season 2 has been an increase in quality. Season 1 was a 3 out of 10, season 2 (halfway through) is 6 out of 10 so far, I barely skipped anything and for the most part, far more enjoyable.
I watched Swamp Kings on Netflix over the weekend. It's about the Florida Gators while Urban Meyer was there. Very interesting, even if you're not a Florida fan. I don't know how any of these big-time college football coaches make it past the age of 60 without having a heart attack. So much constant pressure 365 days a year. Also on Season 4 of Yellowstone. Great show (duh!)
Watching Homocide on Peacock for the first time. Great show. Andre Braugher, Ned Beatty, Yaphet Kotto, Jon Polito. Great performances. It's a lot better than Law & Order, but not as good as The Wire. It's probably on a similar tier as The Shield, but much more realistic.
Here's a soundtrack playlist of all the music in the first two seasons. props to whoever was the music supervisor to this show: https://tidal.com/playlist/a408534f-c697-44cf-a590-0fb61fccf29e link should allow you to open the PL in your choice of DSP. but here's Spotty, just in case: https://tidal.com/playlist/a408534f-c697-44cf-a590-0fb61fccf29e
Just watched a documentary called Knuckleball about the careers of Tim Wakefield and R.A. Dickey - the only 2 knuckleballers in MLB during the 2011 season. 10/10.
Hoyt Wilhelm, reliever with the Yankees,. https://www.mlb.com/news/best-knuckleball-pitchers-in-baseball-history Why hasn't anyone said anything about Phil Niekro?
We tried The Residence last night. beautifully made, great production, but I just couldn't get into it. just a little too silly, and it was weird seeing Al Franken "playing" a senator. wife seemed ok with it.
Dickey was a ranger in the early 2000's but didn't do anything with them. He made a name for himself as a Met. Also, both Niekro brothers were featured along with Charlie Hough. Phil and Charlie were interviewed extensively as Hough was actually Dickey's mentor.
