That whole family is in on the grift. Now they are launching Trump mobile cell phones and plans. I can't keep up with all the personal businesses he promotes while President.
Trump is leveraging power of his office to reap profits for family businesses From crypto coins to bibles, overseas development deals to an upcoming line of cellphones, Trump family businesses have raked in hundreds of millions of dollars since his election An unprecedented flood of often shadowy money from billionaires, foreign governments and cryptocurrency tycoons with interests before the federal government. “He is president and is supposed to be working in the public’s interest,” said James Thurber, an emeritus professor at American University, who has researched lobbying, campaign finance and political corruption for decades. “Instead, he is helping his own personal interest to grow his wealth. It’s totally not normal.” Trump family’s ambitions are far grander, stretching from cyberspace to far-flung regions across the globe. One of Trump’s cryptocurrencies is conservatively estimated to have pulled in at least $320 million since January, while another received a $2 billion investment from a foreign government wealth fund. A third has sold at least $550 million in tokens. His sons have jetted across the Middle East to line up new development deals, while his daughter and son-in-law are working with the Albanian government to build a Mediterranean island resort. Even first lady Melania Trump has inked a $40 million documentary deal with Amazon, whose founder, Jeff Bezos, was a frequent target of Trump during his first presidency and whose companies contract extensively with the federal government. The dealmaking is a rejection of Trump’s first-term pledge to “drain the swamp” in Washington and dwarfs the influence peddling efforts of former President Joe Biden’s family, whom Trump and his allies attacked as the “Biden Crime Family.” https://abcnews.go.com/Business/wir...ng-power-office-reap-profits-family-123858027
Mystery surrounds $1.2 billion Army contract to build huge detention tent camp in Texas desert Los Angeles Times By Michael Biesecker and Joshua Goodman Aug. 28, 2025 8:58 AM PT WASHINGTON — When President Trump’s administration last month awarded a contract worth up to $1.2 billion to build and operate what it says will become the nation’s largest immigration detention complex, it didn’t turn to a large government contractor or even a firm that specializes in private prisons. Instead, it handed the project on a military base to Acquisition Logistics LLC, a small business that has no listed experience running a correction facility and had never won a federal contract worth more than $16 million. The company also lacks a functioning website and lists as its address a modest home in suburban Virginia owned by a 77-year-old retired Navy flight officer. The mystery over the award only deepened last week as the new facility began to accept its first detainees. The Pentagon has refused to release the contract or explain why it selected Acquisition Logistics over a dozen other bidders to build the massive tent camp at Fort Bliss in west Texas. At least one competitor has filed a complaint. The secretive — and brisk — contracting process is emblematic, experts said, of the government’s broader rush to fulfill the Republican president’s pledge to arrest and deport an estimated 10 million migrants living in the U.S. without permanent legal status. As part of that push, the government is turning increasingly to the military to handle tasks that had traditionally been left to civilian agencies. A member of Congress who recently toured the camp said she was concerned that such a small and inexperienced firm had been entrusted to build and run a facility expected to house up to 5,000 migrants. “It’s far too easy for standards to slip,” said Rep. Veronica Escobar, a Democrat whose district includes Fort Bliss. “Private facilities far too frequently operate with a profit margin in mind as opposed to a governmental facility.” Attorney Joshua Schnell, who specializes in federal contracting law, said he was troubled that the Trump administration has provided so little information about the facility. “The lack of transparency about this contract leads to legitimate questions about why the Army would award such a large contract to a company without a website or any other publicly available information demonstrating its ability to perform such a complicated project,” he said. Ken A. Wagner, the president and CEO of Acquisition Logistics, did not respond to phone messages or emails. No one answered the door at his three-bedroom house listed as his company’s headquarters. Virginia records list Wagner as an owner of the business, though it’s unclear whether he might have partners. Army declines to release contract Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved using Fort Bliss for the new detention center, and the administration has hopes to build more at other bases. A spokesperson for the Army declined to discuss its deal with Acquisition Logistics or reveal details about the camp’s construction, citing the litigation over the company’s qualifications. The Department of Homeland Security, which includes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, declined to answer questions about the detention camp it oversees. Continued...
W was an idiot and clearly made a mess of the world. But to his credit, I never wondered to myself if he could be Satan in the flesh.
I remember thinking at the time, no way would my fellow Americans ever vote for a president this bad again. Boy was I wrong...
I'll never forget the night I opened my phone up to Apple News and knew he had somehow won again. Or the night in 2020 when I thought he might've won.
The most depressing part about 2024 is that minorities delivered the win to Trump. White folks voted for Harris in larger numbers than ever before.. Hispanics voted for the guy who is deporting their family Muslims voted for the guy whos building trump towers in Gaza Asians voted for the guy whos defunding the education department It's just so sad how brainwashed so many minorities were this past year
I won't get into any of the other stuff on the list, but Obama failed to increase the minimum wage (he wanted to go to $9/hr, IIRC). The current $7.25 was passed in 2007, though done over 3 increases of 70 cents, of which the 3rd and final happened during Obama's first year as President. I'm just bothered by things like this. When the very first "fact" is at best an extreme distortion of fact and at worst a blatant lie, it takes away from what might otherwise be accurate information.
Meh. Muslims feeling alienated by Democrats is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. This was literally cutting their nose off to spite their face. Democrats certainly could have done a lot of things better, but losing votes to people that would hurt themselves just to try and prove a point is just stupid. Similar could be said for Hispanic people, but at least I can see how they could lie to themselves.
I'm muslim and worked for the campaign and it was so depressing how utterly brainwashed my people were. I mean they literally voted for guy who passed the Muslim ban in his first term. Trump literally has illegal settlements made after him in israel after giving them so much money
Not a muslim here but I worked for the campaign as well and was only told to go **** myself once, lol. And that was by a black guy. I remember one person I spoke with was undecided and one or two weren't what I would call enthusiastic Harris supporters. But everyone else -- and I'm talking all ethnicities here -- were team Harris all the way. So I'm still in shock. I still can't believe Trump won. I know how desperate he was to get minorities to vote for him. I just can't believe the numbers. I'm not saying @DaDakota is right about Trump rigging the election, but I know damn well that if anyone were to try and rig an election it would be him.
kind of . . . pretty much this. It would have been much better if Biden had taken the high road and announced early he was only going to serve one term. Democrats would likely be in the White House right now, although who knows, they might have screwed that up too the way things are going.
Joe biden was the one who ran the obama white house...Obama wanted to cut Medicare and social security and it was biden that saved his ass from mass entitlement cuts. It was Obama that had no idea how to cut deals with congress and it was mitch that played obama played like a fiddle when it came to the debt ceiling. It was biden who cut a deal to keep the government open. It was obama that got played by the generals whom forced him to surge troops in Afghanistan. It was biden telling obama that Afghanistan was a death trap and he was getting played. Ive never understood the obama worshipping by liberals. He was an awful president when it came to policy but got saved by his charm and charisma
Delusional. A democratic primary in the middle of the gaza war would've been a **** show for Democrats. Kamala was leading in every primary poll by a wide margin which meant other candidates wouldve attacked her hard on a national stage which is never good for the general election. The main talking point would've been gaza which would've split the party more. Kamala still got 80% of the Jewish vote in the general which never would've happened if there was a primary. You think having lefties call kamala a genocide enabler in front of tens of millions of americans would've been good for her ? A primary never helps the canidate for the general election thus why Trump never participated in any debates. kamala came out the strongest she would've ever been when biden dropped out and had hundreds of millions in the bank and a infrastructure biden already created. She just ran a suboptimal campaign
