And then WWL quit broadcasting games. I was stuck listening thru 1060 WNOE New Orleans and then it went to 1280 WDSU but it would only come in at night here in Florida.
Speaking of old, I have an Astros baseball desk calendar autographed by Gene Elston around here somewhere.
So far, Walker has been an all-or-nothing player, which is a tad unusual. Better than his predecessors who were pretty much nothing all the time.
Walker had thirteen home runs through the first four months of the season. He has eight home runs in August. Five in the last week.
Before the season started, I'd have happily taken a 25-30 hr season with 80-90 rbi. That seemed like good value for the money...especially considering what he was replacing and how he started the season. I'd like to see his OPS higher but I'm content with the signing.
It's funny that he's going to end up right around his avg. BA is probably about where most of us thought he'd be since he's career 240 something. RBI 13 short of 162g avg OPS 60 short of 162g avg HRs 9 short of 162g avg Slugging is where he really fell off, 52 points short If he maintains this current production what's his grade at $20m? C+? B? .
I just responded to that post and yea he's probably going to hit on or close to most of his averages.
