ESPN removing Doris Burke from NBA finals schedule

The first sensible thing the league has done in a long, long time.

Should be removed from every single game because she is absolute garbage and i've never seen a national broadcaster disregard hiding their bias as much as she has, but it's a step in the right direction.

 

First good thing ESPN has done since firing Mark Jackson. Jefferson will be more bearable I am sure too with Legler. Since we have a lot of national games and likely getting the A team, this is perfect timing.

 

NY Post is reporting the deal to be demoted to the #2 broadcast team is a done deal.

Totally agree with you. They are just the background noise I need to enjoy the game, but don't really care what they have to say the majority of the time.

Yeah I loved Mark Jackson along with tons of other fans. Ppl just choose to not like ppl for personal reasons

 

I’m saying that was a good thing. He became a bit more bearable towards the end, but he was corny AF, never gave great insights and just not a great voice for broadcasting.

 

I love this move. IMO, Legler is far and away ESPN's best NBA analyst. Doris Burke was pathetic. "Background noise" on game broadcasts does matter. Not sure how most viewers will react to Legler, but he actually says stuff that helps people better understand what's happening on the court and why. Burke rarely said anything useful, and though she clearly toned this down after after complaints, her bias towards teams and players remained sickening at times. I hope Legler does not fall into this trap. From his studio work, I doubt it.

what a travesty. doris burka is a gentleman and a scholar.

 

This genuinely made me laugh out loud, I don't know where you're from but that plays perfect to this British audience. I actually hate Jefferson more with his high pitched whiney voice, I don't want to listen to him. Doris was a bit annoying but not as much for me. It's a shame they can't both go. I actually prefer Creg and Ryan.

No she is far from ok, she is one of the reasons the NBA Ratings are down, she is heavily bias and criticizes players nonstop.

She needs to be Fired.

Announcers are not just background noise. It's like if you go watch a game and the dudes behind you keep talking garbage loudly the whole game, you'll want to turn around and tell them to stfu.

With the announcers, you can't turn them off without also turning off the background game atmosphere.
