    It is very interesting that there are none of the Usual Suspects in this thread trying to carry water for the Administration.

    Even they know this is ****ed...but they're gutless cowards and won't admit it.

    Kennedy Jr. is mentally ill, a fool living in a pool of paranoia. The last person you want in his position. That he was appointed to it by trump is an abomination.

    He's the perfect person for a lying jerk like Trump though, who loves fabricating everything about science and health to fit his selfish agendas. Those two idiots are taking us backwards as a nation when it comes to health, research, and cures for diseases. RFK JR is like that cart peddling quack of old times going from town to town with his cart full of magical cures and potions for what ails you. :p

    RFK was polling at 5-10% at the beginning of the National race, Trump won by just 1.5%

    So, investors are now interested in developing treatments for measles. Just great. We don't vaccinate, a virtually eliminated disease comes back, and Big Pharma makes money off of new drugs. Quite the racket. Really excited to see my insurance and health costs go up to cover this combo of stupidity and greed.

    Also, you know, there are unpreventable diseases that we could be focusing our research on.

    The CDC shooting was worse than initially reported: 181 rounds fired and 150 windows hit.

    Stone cold psycho.

    Read the whole thing if you want to be mad all day. RFK, Jr. is hellbent on "proving" vaccines and vaccines only cause autism and anything that conflicts with that is getting thrown out.

    Why aren't they calling Trump up for the challenge? Oh wait, they are too busy kissing his butt to notice the rest of his flabby obese body hiding under his giant sized suit. Trump never sets the example he wants others to follow.

    The internet has made a lot of people a lot dumber. It's like they have to experience small pox personally to believe some things.

    US officials announced on Wednesday the departure of the director of the nation’s top public health agency after less than one month in the job, as her attorneys say she was “targeted” for refusing “to rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives”.

    The abrupt departure has roiled the agency and was swiftly followed by a wave of other high-profile resignations, including three senior CDC officials.

    The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) offered no explanation, making the announcement in an unsigned social media post on Wednesday evening.

    “Susan Monarez is no longer director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We thank her for her dedicated service to the American people,” HHS said in the statement.

    Monarez, who was confirmed by the Senate as CDC director just last month, appeared to have afoul of Robert F Kennedy Jr, the US health secretary, after she declined to support sweeping changes to US vaccine policies, according to reporting from the Washington Post and the New York Times.

    On Wednesday evening, her lawyers Mark Zaid and Abbe David Lowell told the Associated Press she had neither resigned nor been told she was fired.

    “First it was independent advisory committees and career experts. Then it was the dismissal of seasoned scientists. Now, Secretary Kennedy and HHS have set their sights on weaponizing public health for political gain and putting millions of American lives at risk,” her lawyers, Mark Zaid and Abbe David Lowell, said in a statement. “When CDC Director Susan Monarez refused to rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives and fire dedicated health experts, she chose protecting the public over serving a political agenda. For that, she has been targeted.”

    “This is not about one official,” they added. “It is about the systematic dismantling of public health institutions, the silencing of experts, and the dangerous politicization of science. The attack on Dr. Monarez is a warning to every American: our evidence-based systems are being undermined from within.”

    At least three CDC leaders have resigned since the HHS announcement and have sent letters to their colleagues to explain their reasons for leaving.

    The most explosive charge came from Dr Demetre Daskalakis, who stepped down as the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, according to Inside Medicine, an industry newsletter that obtained the full statements.

    “I am not able to serve in this role any longer because of the ongoing weaponizing of public health. You are the best team I have ever worked with, and you continue to shine despite this dark cloud over the agency and our profession,” Daskalakis wrote. “Please take care of yourself and your teams and make the right decisions for yourselves.”

    Those concerns were echoed by another departing CDC leader, Dr Deb Houry, the chief medical officer, who wrote that “For the good of the nation and the world, the science at CDC should never be censored or subject to political pauses or interpretations.”

    Daniel Jernigan, who ran the Center for Emerging Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, has also quit the agency.

    CDC Director Susan Monarez ‘will not resign,' her lawyers say,
    after health secretary, RFK Jr, moved to oust her

    That sparked a near-immediate leadership exodus from the CDC.

    At least four top officials announced their resignations, including
    • Dr. Debra Houry, the chief medical officer;
    • Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases;
    • Dr. Daniel Jernigan, the director of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases; and
    • Dr. Jen Layden, director of the Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance and Technology.

    So now:

    - no COVID vaccines for anyone under 65 unless you qualify as "high-risk", prescription from doctor needed to qualify (nationwide)
    - Ivermectin available over the counter at pharmacies (Texas, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana and Tennessee)

    Sounds about right.
