Its why early in the season when people wanted Espada to play the same lineup every day, the "I can't believe Dubon is starting again!!" types, I knew we as fans should be careful what we wish for. You run your players into the ground and look how many got injured. It's not a coincidence.
I dunno. Not sure anyone is injured from overplaying. Except maybe Paredes who was probably brought back too soon.
Every player over the course of 162 games is playing through something. A little rest every now and then helps reduce the strain on those parts that players need to keep going and allows time for healing. If there was no benefit, there would be no rest days for anyone. Even if you thought rest did nothing to help prevent injuries, starting 162 games as opposed to 140 means that many more opportunities to get injured.
Prediction: Cesar Salazar will get on base more than once tonight. He will also throw out a baserunner.
Who has gone down from overuse? Hader for sure, but that's certainly not what you are talking about Who?
