Interesting, who is not leading? Who is supposed to lead professional men/ball players off the field? No spark? Who creates spark for the entire team? Correa? Altuve? Espada? You think we need a screamer? Accountability starts and ends with the professional does it not? Ya' know the saying, "you can't fire the players". No excuses they sucked ass but I'm seriously curious when I see these posts to have the open endeness explained. So did all these issues just go away when they touched down in Baltimore and won 3 of 4 (almost a sweep) and they just reappeared when they showed up at the ballpark last night?
Even with Mason Miller, Suarez is still the Closer. Suarez is definitely a great location pitcher, throws all of his pitches. Hits both sides of the plate.
SS Jeremy Pena DH Jose Altuve LF Yordan Alvarez 3B Carlos Correa 1B Christian Walker RF Jesus Sanchez C Yainer Diaz CF Jacob Melton 2B Ramon Urias Isaac Paredes is rehabbing. Jake Myers Rehab assignment soon, going to the Minors.
Jacob Melton reminds me of Derek Fisher... might score us the winning run in the World Series but has no business with a bat.
It is a perception, that the team has no fire from time to time and is complacent, they are lackadaisical on fundamentals, and you don't see them talk after the fact about how they need to focus and buckle down - it SEEMS they are just going with the flow, and are mellow..... I think that is their culture, a low vibe take it as it goes, culture - and yes, I wish someone would step forward in the managerial role and on the field and say we have to play better, we have to support our pitchers with solid defense, we have to stop running into unnecessary outs, we need our pitchers backing up the throw home, just looks lazy to me. DD
Yesterday was disgusting. It was one game, and the Astros were somehow bailed out again by the Mariners sucking.
They haven’t said anything about him. He’s either dead or it’s very minor and Joe was just giving him the day off.
I understand. Funeral arrangements take time. this is why it’s kinda important to catch the ball with the glove. How many subpar defensive catchers have to die before this happens?
They can't do anything about it... but Hunter is likely having some fatigue/stamina issues as this season goes on and on, and he continues to throw the most innings he ever has, in a league where its rare that anybody makes 'every' start and throws 200+IP. If they make the playoffs, they all will get some rest prior.
I mean-The second I saw it I assumed it was probably broken at least a little bit. If not that bruised enough that he was going to miss a couple weeks.
Hard to be much better than Yainer has lately, OPS over .850 for the past month and even better more recently. Hard to hit from the bench though
This will make 6 of our 9 starting position players that have gone on the DL. Cam Smith never went on the DL but he played well below replacement level for quite a while. of course, there is still a over month left and Altuve plays every single day at 35 years old. It’s a miracle he hasn’t pulled up lame yet.
I was in a suite at The Summit once for ZZ Top. I thought it was all the beer we could drink. Then, the lady came and said, "you guys need to slow down on the beer". I wanted to tell her to find some more beer. Go take some from another suite. This is a suite! We get what we want! It's all free!
