Dexter: Original Sin’ Un-Renewed as Paramount Opts Out of Second Season Tldr Summary: Dexter: Original Sin (90's prequel/ younger version of the cast) season 2 is cancelled. Dexter Resurrection (continuation with Michael C Hall) will likely get a new season. "... With a change in leadership at Paramount following the Skydance merger, the Dexter franchise moved from Showtime/MTV Entertainment into the reborn Paramount Television Studios under Matt Thunell. The decision then came to focus on Resurrection, which continues the present-day Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) story from the original 2006-13 series and the 2021-22 follow-up Dexter: New Blood. A writers room for a potential second season of Resurrection is set to open soon, with the intent being a renewal, sources tell THR — though season two has yet to be formally greenlit. The series has been performing well for Paramount+ Premium and the linear Showtime channel. The premiere episode drew 3.1 million viewers over its opening weekend and grew to 4.4 million after seven days; Paramount says the Aug. 15 episode drew the show’s largest audience of the season. Sources also note that Paramount remains invested in the Dexter franchise but is directing its efforts toward the unfolding story of Resurrection rather than filling in more of the character’s life in a continued prequel series." Well that sucks about young Dexter! Would be cool if they set up the cast of "Original Sin" to appear in "Resurrection" flashbacks next season so we can still see young Dexter and how he progressed. I always thought Michael Hall was kind of burned out with Dexter and that is why the original show ended. I guess he has a newfound enthusiasm for the role.
Dexter Resurrection is almost at its Finale ......so much for the interest. Make him a DC Hero, he piqued my curiosity......and got my attention.
That really sucks about Original Sin! I was so down on the original series after season 8, but New Blood restored my faith, and both OS and Resurrection were the rare shows I actually watched as they came out instead of just waiting to binge them later. They shoulda kept both!
They probably wanted to do a Harrison spin-off but soon figured he can't man his own show.....so yeah...back to Michael C. He does not even have a full Dark Passenger.
Then it could be both. Something like that can give proper perspective on how blessed you are to be able to make a living simply acting instead of scraping by doing 2-3 minimum wage jobs.
It was Hodgkin's lymphoma Definitely something to make you feel blessed BTW He was married to DEB (the chick that played his sister) Rocket River
I loved Deb on that show.........she reminds me of that fireball who worked at the Yellowstone and cant understand a dam word she says
That could also be a reason he does not want to have biological kids.......that type of cancer ran in the family....
Episode 9 of 10 dropped, pretty good. Spoiler A key thing happens to one of the long time cast members.
They won't let Dexter just die, typical Showtime...run it into the ground until there's nothing left. That being said I may check it out since it's been so long...
