Definitely not on the Kwame Brown hype train but let's not forget the guy played 14 NBA seasons so his points aren't completely invalid. He played either with or against a lot of these guys including his Airness. I never was a huge fan of Knee-Mac even as a Rocket. He is a quitter who never took his team past the 1st round and makes excuses about it. All his hype is potential based shoulda woulda coulda. Having the potential to be better than Kobe is not the same as being on Kobe's level. Knee-mac had some great teams here in Houston and did nothing. Metta World Peace did more with less on his Rockets tenure.
It's actually crazy how many teams gave that man money. I went and looked and he made a ton of money for being one of the most mediocre players ever.
Kwame needs to go offline, nobody cares about what him or Anthony Bennett have to say about nba stars
T-mac only had a few seasons where his true shooting percentage was over .500. Let that sink in for a while. Even Allen Iverson had a true shooting percentage above .500.
It's called Nike advertising. They had just signed a massive shoe deal with Kobe and were in a bit of a bind because if they abandoned him, they didn't have another upcoming star to pivot to. Then they leaned into the idea of a "hater" with commercials and played up this image of Kobe embracing the haters before eventually turning that into the Mamba Mentality gimmick. It's ALL marketing. The cruelest part of it was that he definitely raped that girl, but his defense team 'sorry, not sorry' publicly doxxed the young woman and crazy Laker fans went after her forcing her to drop the suit after he paid her millions for her silence(and bought his wife the largest ring you have ever seen) so the narrative could be about you are either a hater or not since there wasn't an official record against him. The whole thing was dirty....never been a Kobe fan. He was a friendless malcontent for much of his career(although without a doubt a very good basketball player) and his legacy has only improved in his death as Nike can market whatever fake narrative of Kobe they want....but trust, in the mid 90s/early 2000s, he was easily the least liked player in the association and didn't have many friends in the league until much MUCH later in his career. All that said - that was a tragic way to die and I feel for him, his family, and the people of LA for him to have to pass with his daughter like that. I arrived at John Wayne in Orange County for work the morning he died and remember getting off the plane and seeing the news breaking in real time and people in the airport there were legit devastated and crying. Clearly he meant something to the city and it was sad it happened that way.
Better him than Gordon Giricek shooting... You forgot that he shared touches with Yao and decimated his scoring to 23-24 ppg with the Rockets in his first ever season. Most of the NBA are chuckers though but the Magic really had nobody when Grant Hill went out...Drew Gooden?!
He has a small fanbase on YT and is now a Youtuber, he marketed his Bust as something he is proud of now to have been in the NBA. I think he went viral when he called Morant an NBA dumb boi not Youngboy and Chaingang boy. And ranting while driving or on his tractor...
Kwame's got his schedule filled going after Arenas, Shannon Sharpe, TMac, etc. It was kind of tragic how he celebrated Arenas' downfall a bit too early and had to apologize. Smh.
He is also a fierce Lebron hater .....why he went after Shannon Sharpe. And probably defends Kobe until Kingdom cometh.
Chucking implies taking really stupid low inefficient shots. His bread and butter was holding on to the ball for 10 seconds to take a long contested 2 point shot. Only Allen Iversen has as low of a career true shooting percentage.
The thing is I never heard him say he enjoyed shooting.....that part of his game.....that was what I referred to......but he liked being the man and that probably gave him touches and shot attempts. He clearly was not a shooter but he was not abysmal at that like Giannis either. I think his weakness was more that he avoided physical contact, if he would be a physical player, the below average shooting would not matter that much.......as he had the size to play Stretch Power Forward.
Tmac had a career TS+ of 99, so he was only 1% below league average for his career. Obviously once he hurt his back he was never the same and his later seasons killed his career average. He peaked at a +9 though and 32 ppg, a peak kobe never reached. There’s also tons of guys with worse efficiency, idk where you get that only AI is lower (he is). Hell, jalen green is at 94 for his career which is miles below tmac.
Giannis never shoots. He dunks. He knows his limitations. He's also has won a playoff series being the man.
