If we can play Alvarez in LF (preferably) then we can DH Caratini most days if Diaz is ok. That would give us length through the 8th spot. Add Meyers in the 9th when he returns. That's a complete lineup that no longer has a dreadful bat (or 2 or 3) in it.

 

let's see if they're going to call up salazar with diaz's taking a fb right to his left wrist.

 

I care who hits 8th and 9th. Yordan alone does not erase that concern.
