Let some other team have that “craftiness”.

We throw only fastballs to a guy that can't hit the cheese....

I don't know who is calling our pitches, but this is one area we miss Maldanado big time.

Lol. We don’t miss Maldy in any area.

The maldy mystique still runs deep with some of you

Isn't that when you'd want to throw the old number 1?

I feel like the 'stros, and I get that we're spoiled after the run in '22, get punished when they throw pitches that aren't competitive (walks) and then compound that by missing spots.

Seems like the variance from pitch to pitch, outing to outing is just so much higher from where it was a couple of years ago. Can probably attribute that to an overall lack of experience.

Maldy had a higher catcher ERA than Diaz for a reason. Maldy is just a better UFC watch buddy.

We won in 2022 with Maldy

Ask Carlos Correa how valuable Maldy was

We also had Christian Vazquez catch a no hitter in the World Series, and Correa was in Minnesota.

We better win tonight if we want to take this series. No one has been scoring off Rodgers and we have Arrighetti on the bump tomorrow.

Didn’t he catch game 3 against new york too? It’s not like maldy was bad for the pitchers but sure his impact as the pitcher whisperer was certainly overblown

Well, he was pretty bad for pitchers when it comes to just flat out not catching pitches and allowing runners to advance.

Arguably the most impressive World Series win in the history of baseball. The Astros won despite Dusty Baker's sabotage...part of that sabotage being Martin Maldonado...something no other team in baseball history was ever talented enough to do.

Both games look grim. Kremer has really good #’s against us in his career.

Many of the folks here who scream at Diaz for it, never said a word when Maldy did it. Maldy did it a lot more than Diaz too.

I'm pretty sure he was the league leader in it for at least a few seasons.

Then we should be more then fine. Freid, Crochet, etc, just keep us away from the 0-4 6.25era 1.78 WHIP rook and we'll be fine.
