My dude- we have the government patrolling the streets of the US capitol, harrasing people in their own neighborhoods. There are masked ICE agents hauling parents away from schools when they drop their kids off. No European government is doing that crap.
That sounds terrible if true (I don't watch news lately). And yes, I've been to Europe recently. Super nice & no federal troops in capitals - can attest to that. I don't think the shorter guy should be ridiculed for standing his ground to the taller guy. People have their pride. They shouldn't end up in ICU for it
Maybe the shorter guy was only brave enough to stand his ground because he had a gun on him. The attorney for Brown's dad claimed he only took out the knife and started attacking after he saw the guy pull out his gun. Perhaps if the smaller guy didn't have a gun on him he wouldn't have acted so brazen and the whole situation wouldn't have escalated.
That's funny. You either don't know what the definition of harrassing is, or you're just blatantly lying. I know what my money is on.
There's nothing going on except another Trump political stunt. Dictators and fascist leaders do love parading their troops around, just like Trump did already with his military parade. His excuse is that the troops are there to help reduce crime. Except in the recent major survey with a sample size of tens of thousands of people living in Washington DC done by the Post, almost 80% of respondents said that crime wasn't a major issue and they believed that deploying troops there was a lot more dangerous or disruptive then any threat of crime.
ok. my point seems to still be applicable (that if there are federal troops patrolling a capital en mass, it appears like a country has some sort of governance issue esp when compared to other countries in the western world - something my very 1st post here allured to). Thank you for providing your view on why there are/were federal troops in the capital - I hope you've convinced posters that suggested our governance is relatively perfect of the opposite. However, I thought it might be more convincing if you address those people directly next time though.
Ive not seen a single federal troop. So they most certainly are not patrolling en mass. And if they are, they're doing it in the areas I was advised to stay away from, which would ironically put them in the very place where crime is high. But give into the sensationalism.
It's this really bizarre situation for those of us in Europe. We're constantly told that we're the ones at the mercy of our government because we have no guns, and yet the US government has always been significantly more authoritarian (****, y'all even still have to pay taxes to your home nation if you emigrate, that's actually crazy levels of control over your life) despite you all walking around with guns to supposedly "guarantee your freedom" or whatever. It's illegal for y'all to cross the street lmao. Very surreal. I just hope all of my friends and family in the US are well and stay safe tbh, seems to be looking more and more like a dictatorship with severely curtailed freedoms sadly. "Land of the free" (to be persecuted by your own government, impoverished by your healthcare system or simply gunned down wherever because 'Murica **** yeah!) doesn't sound that free to the observer.
