    One of the many things that pisses me off is to see Trump doing a lot of bold, though usually stupid, not to mention immoral ings. It at least looks like he is trying to do the f'd up things his followers want.

    The Dems seem to be generally nice intentioned toward the average American's economic well being, especially in their rhetoric, but their deeds and even their attempts seem anything but bold. This in a time when polls show most Americans believe we need big change.

    I grant that the Trump daily bold move is often just to grab the headlines and for appearance. i also grant that it is easier to do things that greatly aid the billionaire donors, such as the big tax cuts foer the wealthy, while the Dems have the problem that their economic campaign rhetoric in favor of the average person will have in practice to take on their billionaire donors, too. Poor Kamala said little to upset big donors and look how that turned out.

    PS I voted unenthusiastically for Kamala as I believe in voting for the lesser of two evils in the present system.

    I think 'bold' is a pretty sympathetic adjective for Trump. Trump's bold acts consist of overstepping his authority, engaging in corrupt practice, violating the civil rights of citizens and others, and usurping the powers of other elected officials. I'm okay with boldness, but if the Trumpian boldness you'd like to see in a democrat is to act like a fascist authoritarian like Trump does-- well I'd rather not see that ever happen.

    Fascism has a structural advantage over liberalism. Liberalism is always worried about the letter and spirit of the law, regular order, and observing the Constitution. Fascists don't have to worry about all that. So they can fight no holds barred while their opponents do not. And if one of their opponents recognizes the structural disadvantage and fights dirty -- well, he becomes a fascist himself. It becomes a vicious cycle where anti-democratic forces fight for power by competing on disenfranchising the populace.

    Youre one of the smartest lefties I've ever come across who understands how the American government works. You should be more involved in canvassing/outreach. Most people have no idea how the government works

    if you look at the sheer number of times the courts struck down Biden's initiatives, you could probably say the exact thing about Biden: "overstepping his authority, engaging in corrupt practice, violating the civil rights of citizens and others, and usurping the powers of other elected officials."

    Trump and Biden may differ in degree, but not in kind.

    No and it's because any Democrat that challenges the status quo is viewed as opposition by institution Dems and they will actively work against them even if it means capitulating to the right. A clear example of this is serial sexual abuser Andrew Cuomo coordinating with fellow serial sexual abuser Donald Trump to try and defeat Zohran Mamdani.

    Biden withdrew from Afghanistan and literally got zero credit from the left. Biden tried doing student debt forgiveness and the supreme court blocked it and then Gen z voted for Trump. Biden passed the largest climate bill in modern history but no climate organizations endorsed democrats. I can give you a list of 100 things where biden challenged the "status quo" and it got them nowhere.

    This idea that democrats dont challenge the status quo is just braindead talking points. Biden tried going big and got slapped down by the courts. Lefties have no idea how to build coalitions. They would rather burn everything down then make allies.

    Trump 1.0 campaigned on infrastructure, and had hyped up on infrastructure week on 8 differenct occasions;
    still could not come up with a plan . that's the anti-thesis of bold.

    during his first year in offoce. Biden's team got the infrastucute bill passed into law, despite his party not having control of Congress;
    that was bold

    Democrats routinely do BOLD things, such as:

    • Using foreign and domestic intel agencies to frame Trump for the manufactured crime of Russian collusion
    • Launching psyops on the American people to instill irrational fear of COVID, then shutting down businesses, and ultimately creating untraceable ballots used to install their compromised candidate, Joe Biden, with an absurd 81 million votes -- the most in history by a wide margin (for an awful candidate who barely campaigned).
    • Using the courts to bring 90+ absurd charges against Trump, attempting to take his reputation, money, ability to run for office, and his freedom for life from him.
    • Multiple impeachments for manufactured "crimes"
    • Attempting to remove Trump from the ballot in states all across the country
    ALL BOLD, ALL FAILED

    At the end of the day, Trump is able to do bold things politically, and take action on them, because his policies enjoy widespread support. That's not the case for Democrat policies.

    GOOD DAY

    Biden followed the deal trump signed with the Taliban committing the United States and Allied troops to withdraw completely from Afghanistan within 14 months. The main driver of trump's agreement with the Taliban was trump's desire to be able to claim that he had brought troops home before the 2020 election.

    Biden's mistake? Assuming that the Taliban would abide by trump's agreement, and how Biden carried out trump's agreement was a mistake, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many others. Our NATO allies, as well as troops from friendly nations, agreed to withdraw their own troops (fighting alongside our own for years after 9/11, for which they get not nearly enough credit) under the agreement. Coverage at the time by the BBC is below and at the link.

    The US and the Taliban have signed an "agreement for bringing peace" to Afghanistan after more than 18 years of conflict.

    The US and Nato allies have agreed to withdraw all troops within 14 months of the signing if the militants uphold the deal. President Trump said it had been a "long and hard journey" in Afghanistan. "It's time after all these years to bring our people back home," he said.

    Talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban are due to follow. Under the agreement, the militants also agreed not to allow al-Qaeda or any other extremist group to operate in the areas they control.
    Speaking at the White House, Mr Trump said the Taliban had been trying to reach an agreement with the US for a long time.

    He said US troops had been killing terrorists in Afghanistan "by the thousands" and now it was "time for someone else to do that work and it will be the Taliban and it could be surrounding countries". "I really believe the Taliban wants to do something to show we're not all wasting time," Mr Trump added. "If bad things happen, we'll go back with a force like no-one's ever

    What's in the agreement?
    Within the first 135 days of the deal the US will reduce its forces in Afghanistan to 8,600, with allies also drawing down their forces proportionately.

    The move would allow US President Donald Trump to show that he has brought troops home ahead of the US presidential election in November.

    The deal also provides for a prisoner swap. Some 5,000 Taliban prisoners and 1,000 Afghan security force prisoners would be exchanged by 10 March, when talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government are due to start.

    The US will also lift sanctions against the Taliban and work with the UN to lift its separate sanctions against the group.

    In Kabul, activist Zahra Husseini said she feared the deal could worsen the situation for women in Afghanistan. "I don't trust the Taliban, and remember how they suppressed women when they were ruling," the 28-year-old told AFP. "Today is a dark day, and as I was watching the deal being signed, I had this bad feeling that it would result in their return to power rather than in peace."

    only problem with this strategy is that more people voted unenthusiastically for Trump than they did for Harris
