I love what Trump's doing. I'm fine with smashing things. Over the last 20 years they've tried to solve these issues by doing things the way the libs want crime stopped. It hasn't worked. So smashing as you call it or doing whatever it takes to fix the issues as soon as possible is what I'm totally on board with.

 

You just don't get it. You fall for the fear mongering and lies, no matter what the story he twists becomes.

Trump's BS for declarations to justify a "public safety emergency" to deploy National Guard troops is nothing but theatrics and lies.

These type comments are simply fear mongering in a city where violent crime is at a 30 year low.

"It's becoming a situation of complete and total lawlessness."

"I'm announcing a historic action to rescue our nation's capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor and worse."

"This is liberation day in DC, and we're going to take our capital back," he said.

Trump said Washington DC had been "taken over by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals" as well as "drugged out maniacs and homeless people".

Then you have his two lying brown shirts continuing the fear mongering...

Taking murder rates alone, we’ve seen impressive improvement across our nation, beyond Washington, D.C. The FBI released data on crime in the United States in 2024 last week, showing a nearly 15% drop in murder overall from 2023 to 2024. The preliminary data for 2025 shows an even more promising decline is happening this year.

The FBI’s crime statistics estimates, based on reported data, show a violent crime occurred, on average, every 25.9 seconds in 2024. The breakdown shows on average a murder occurred every 31.1 minutes and a rape occurred every 4.1 minutes. National violent crime decreased an estimated 4.5% in 2024 compared to 2023 estimates:

Murder and non-negligent manslaughter recorded a 2024 estimated nationwide decrease of 14.9% compared to the previous year.

In 2024, the estimated number of offenses in the revised rape category saw an estimated 5.2% decrease.

Aggravated assault figures decreased an estimated 3.0% in 2024.

Robbery showed an estimated decrease of 8.9% nationally.

I'm totally on board with what he's doing in DC/Gaza/Ukraaine etc.... I dont know about restaurants doing more business, but I'm fairly certain they aren't doing less business and the streets are safer now. Are you against the streets being safer? Because the majority of the citizens in DC are happy with safer streets.

Grocery prices have stabilized and are somewhat cheaper. It may not be 6 wars but he has stopped wars in Africa. Are you unhappy he stopped the killing there? Nettenyahu will be a war hero if he can remove Hamas from the face of the earth. Or are you pro terrorism?

Like I said, violent crime was lower in DC last year than the past 30 years. That includes Trump's last term. The National average of violent crime was down last year. Yet, you want to believe we are in such a state of emergency because Trump says so, just so he can use Executive orders as usual.

I haven't followed this situation much and don't know about the details, but this post reminded me of the conversation on El Salvador not too long ago.

You can always try to trade liberty and freedom for more security. The question is how much, what's the balance, what are the long term implications.


We could do a lot for safety with gun bans. A lot of people would say, obviously the pro gun groups in the country don't care about safety, or school shooting victims, etc.

 

Lives saved, can you give me that number? Like I've said before I love what Trump's doing and I'm especially happy seeing libs freakout about what he's doing.
