Seems several sites agree that AE is only 2 years before Alien. And remember, both crews were in stasis for decades-long research missions. (Isn’t any light speed in this universe.) AE begins with the crew returning from a 64yr old mission.

Hell, I’m assuming Earth doesn’t even know what happened to the Alien crew yet, given how far away they were, and lost contact. Maybe there is a Plot hole regarding Aliens. At that point (70+ years later), AE events should be known … unless AE series plans to have a plot about keeping the Xenomorph classified and secret.

Morrow is programmed (more like he has nothing much in his coconut head) to be Morrow.

Which makes him a dangerous bounty hunter.

First time I’ve seen an alien speed walk on all fours. Seemed kind of awkward.

The eggs came from a moon. That’s no moon!

Now that we kind of see where this is going…I’m not as enthused as I was.

episode 3 was my least favorite so far

I'm not gonna lie, I'm just here for the aliens and other creatures and to see them rip people apart...all the other stuff so far, not so much

the head of Prodigy, I can't stand him up to this point

it can be hard for me to like cyborgs, hybrids, androids, or whatever u wanna call them in a certain show because just by the nature of what they are, they're gonna have severely blunted emotions, basically be a slave to whoever created them, and will be socially r****ded

    True, True, and True.

I like that they made the "advanced people" children.

I'm waiting for the Eyeball-Octopus and Pod-Thing to do fun stuff. Isn't there a 5th one we really haven't seen yet?

Everytime Prodigy guy is on the screen I want to beat the hell out of him. I think that's kind of the point.

So much plot armor for the main characters, the original alien from Alien would have totally destroyed Wendy and her gay brother.....

Don't forget the tick from hell.

To me the other creatures are more interesting than the same ol' face hugger and acid blood.

I enjoyed watching the xenomorph tear up the ponce in the wig and powder face and his party. Otherwise the xenomorph generally hasn't been my favorite part of the show. I know what happens when you meet the Xenomorph - you die unless you have plot armor. Not all that novel the 30th time.

Think of how quickly the first movie would have ended if they'd just brought Wendy along for the trip.

They need to pare the story down to 2-3 main characters + the alien stuff because the cast isn't very strong. The trillionaire actor is by far the biggest negative.

Hopefully they don't spend a bunch of time developing several characters in S1.

Episode 3 did grate a little on the plot armor part of it
The Eye ball thing is interesting
I'm confused on the cyborg. . .is he controlled. . .emotionless. . or just doing his job
his personality seems to rotate through those

Total speculation, but I think Prodigy genuis guy is going to die soon. There was a little scene where Timothy Oliphant manipulated him and then smirked when he was successful. That and a bunch of the other little comments, like about the scorpion at the start of episode one, and the "you used to be food" speech where he tells Wendy that "everybody dies and all we can do is watch and take names" make me think he maybe respects and values the Xenomorph more than humanity.

It would certainly be consistent with every other Alien film, if so. I expect Kirsh is going to do something that will result in Boy Kavalier getting got pretty quickly. I mean, he really doesn't even have a real name, as much as a character description - the "Cavilier Boy genius billionare". He seems like he's there more to represent reckless briliant tech bros as a group, as much as be a character with a real inner life and complexity.

Also, I predict something really terrible is going to happen to Nibbs. I get serious Shelly Duvall in The Shining vibes. She just looks like the kind of actor that was cast for her ability to act nervous and/or terrified.

Regarding the brother's wooden acting - the two things I've seen him in were "The End of The ****ing World" on Netflix, where he was an awkward emotionless psychopath, and as young Alan Turring in The Immitation Game where he was equally awkward and emotionly constipated.

I think they must have been looking for that quality for some reason. I have suspicions...

(going to spoiler for some Episode 3 hints about where they're going - no spoilers if you've actually watched episode 3 and 100% speculation)

about him turning into a creepy artifically compelled cyborg like Morrow, but maybe they just wanted someone who'd act like a deer-in-the-headlights for the effect. But based on his roles previously, they must have known what they were getting.

Also, bald dude in a suit keeps making me think of Lobot from Bespin City, but that's probably just my brain making erroneous connections.

Tim O. is playing an upgrade from the original Ash? Same Model?
    They are in 2120
We don't see Ash until 2122 (Original Aliens)

I wonder if we will learn that THE CORPORATION - sent them to the ship on purpose
(since they obviously are aware of the xenomorphs)
They could have change the course of their ship while they were sleep

I thnk Boy Genuis will become his own creation or they will at least try it
I am not sure Tim O manipulated him as much as saved his life
    (looking into the Egg)
But I can see the Genius begging to be put into a new body and Tim O. . . .saying No.

No warp drive. In this universe travelling in space is looooong. Thats why they go into those cold sleep containers.

In original Alien when they first woke up they thought they were back on Earth. They were at the end of their mission. Cyborg guy's mission was 63 years? Most would have been travel between planets. Timeline-wise, events of Alien may happen in 2 years, but the Nostromo probably left Earth 10 or 20 or more years prior.
