And I don't think it's even close...........Cal and Hannah are quickly rising up the ranks, but the proof is in the rings, if they can bring a Championship to Houston this city will lose their friggin minds and I will be here for ALL of it.
I really hope the Astros put this kid in handcuffs and attach him to Jeremy Pena/Correa this off season. His at bats are really good, but something is off. Ball doesn’t jump off his bat the way you would expect.
Too content to spray to right as opposed to drive to left. And now he lives in a perpectual 0-2 count because he's half way inbetween. I don't htink it will be something he can't overcome.
If him hitting the ball hard as hell to RCF/RF is his zone at this point in his career, let him do it. I've been wondering if he hasn't gotten too "pull-happy"
He’s doing perfectly fine for a rookie that barely played in the minors. He’s probably just gassed at this point not ever having played a full season even in the minors. His last year at FSU is probably the most games he’s ever played until this year
It’s more the problem that it’s not super hard (sad that’s what she said face) when he hits to right and it’s not elevated and there’s no damage being done. I love Cam. I think he’s going to be really good. He’s going to have to get a lot ****ing better to be really good. My bet is he does.
Rookie RF learning a new defensive position (and doing it well) gets hits...don't change that approach until the offseason.
100% yeah in case that wasn’t clear- get through the season with duct tape and bubble gum. Work on getting actually better over the offseason.
We knew his issues from the beginning. He's a line drive hitter when he should be a fly ball hitter. That being said, he should be AA right now so he's way ahead of schedule. He's going to be a superstar if he can adjust. The bat speed and plate discipline are elite.
Seems to me the simple answer is other teams now have more of a book on how to pitch him and he needs to adjust. He's young, so he should learn.
Remember the "Cam Smith is about to get his OPS to .800" talk? He did, for 3 games. 33 games since then he's slashed: .155 .233 .198 .431
houston fans are too high on their young athletes and gets when they hit a wall all these talks about him being superstar, mvp, elite, etc etc calm down lol
Year1: Get your feet wet (he's had a trial by fire), his feets are soggy Year2: Adjust and improve Year 3: Wreck s**t
