I don't think that is true, if it was hacked, it will cause a massive overhaul - and a public outrage.....if not, it is peace of mind.

The public has outrage fatigue. Things that would have caused protests a decade ago, are appearing in headlines eliciting bairly a mention, only to be forgotten the next day by the next outrage.

We're being conditioned to be Russian serfs - getting screwed over again and again and just having to accept it.

It's all part of the transition road map from democracy to autocracy.

This is all well and good but where is the simplicity of explanation for the plebs, the press/publicity and the teeth to do something about it?

If the voting machines were hacked, there is nothing the American public cares more about than being cheated out of their rights.

Agree. Nobody should be willing to accept it, or want to be conditioned like Russian serfs. But, it's so obvious Trump idolizes Putin, for being able to use his authoritarian power to do what he wants. He's taking tips from the propaganda and lies minister himself no doubt. Putin won't hesitate to censor and retaliate against reporters and media who dare to speak the truth. He has no qualms imprisoning or killing those who call out his corruption, or dare to challenge him.

I'm sure he's giving Trump plenty of ideas, and we are seeing these same methods being used with Trump being used in dangerous ways.

I just posted a few snippets from the article linked below, but it's nothing to scoff about and laugh at as many do. It's serious stuff. Trump is manipulative, greedy, power hungry, and corrupt. Those traits, along with a government and justice system headed by nothing but die-hard loyalists is a scary thing.

‘Hallmarks of authoritarianism’: Trump banks on loyalists as he wages war on truth

Donald Trump is waging a war on truth by firing top officials who present facts he finds unpalatable, while he banks on key loyalists at executive agencies to bolster his policies and powers by “rewriting history’s narrative” and squelching dissent, say scholars and former officials.

Trump and his top allies are acting in an authoritarian style by revising history, rejecting facts and widely accepted science.

From the justice department to the Environmental Protection Agency to other key agencies, Trump loyalists have pushed falsehoods and taken radical steps to promote Trump’s policies and what a Trump adviser in 2017 dubbed “alternative facts”.

‘Rigged’, in Trump-speak, just means ‘unfavorable to Trump’. To the extent the firing had an actual purpose, it was not to reform [the] BLS, but to send a message to all agency heads that the release of unflattering information, no matter how routine or how objective, would put their jobs in jeopardy.

The difference between Trump 1 and Trump 2 is that he now has no guardrails … Now Trump is surrounded by people who want to be like him. He learned his lesson of not having people around him who would say no to him.

He’s always tried to create his own set of facts. None of this is new. It’s part of Trump’s conspiratorial mindset.

Sabotaging independent sources of knowledge, flooding communications media with disinformation, and rewriting history’s narrative to conform to ideology rather than fact are hallmarks of authoritarianism.

Trump’s moves to undermine facts have been escalating in dangerous ways.

From government agencies to universities, the president is wielding the cudgel of federal money and the threat of presidential power to intimidate people whose data and ideas don’t support him.

Some legal scholars see a pattern with earlier Trump tactics to fudge facts and revise history and warn of the justice department’s marked politicization under Trump and Bondi.

From a historical perspective, critics say the Trump administration’s assaults on truth and facts will do long-term damage.

A country that instead ignores facts it doesn’t like and invents falsities can achieve very little beyond satisfying those who share the leaders’ ideology. We are on a dangerous path to mediocrity, or worse.

We are about to get an Executive Order that will ban mail-in voting and "seriously controversial" voting machines. It will be treated as an edict from above, an already codified law by the press and Republicans, but it is total BS. Executive Orders only apply to the Executive Branch of the federal government, not states and municipalities. The Constitution gives no power whatsoever to the President over elections, reserving that exclusive right to states and the US Congress. Article 1, Section 4:

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations...

    Times, places, and manner.

Yet we get this from our President:

Remember, the states are merely an "agent" for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do.

These are the musings of an ahistorical and authoritarian mind and have no place under our Constitution--except as speech and speech only, for you can say any idiotic thing you want. You just can't make it policy or law.

Abu Musa was definitely MAGA, was present at the Hamtramck rally to present Trump a 'Certificate of Appreciation'.

    (at 21:32 mark).

Then attended the Inauguration (on tax payer dime of course).

Will be interesting to see if Trump denounces him.

I am glad this was caught before the actual election and I hope Michigan throws the books at him.

Can't wait for the hand recount, I know people are afraid of saying, 2024 might have actually been rigged and being associated with TRUMP'S Lying about the 2020 election, but with his constant projection of what he himself and his followers are doing.....can't hurt to look.

ALWAYS hand count, IMHO......Harris should have called for it.

Curious, do you believe Joe Biden got 81 million votes in 2020? Or perhaps millions of harvested mail in ballots where chain of custody was untraceable played a role? Biden was the worst candidate in many cycles in case anyone forgot.

    Year
Democratic Party (Votes / %) Republican Party (Votes / %)
    2008
    ~69,498,516 — 52.9 % ~59,948,323 — 45.7 %
    2012 ~65,915,795 — 51.1 % ~60,933,504 — 47.2 %
    2016 ~65,853,514 — 48.2 % ~62,984,828 — 46.1 %
    2020 ~81,283,501 — 51.31 % ~74,216,154 — 46.86 %
    2024 ~75,017,613 — 48.32 % ~77,302,580 — 49.80 %

Yep. I don't know why Harris folded like that.

Watch "Hacking Democracy", a 2007 (?) HBO documentary that showed multiple methods of tampering with the voting machines. Usually by manipulating the software. And these dudes who hack into voting machines do so without being detected, even by those who are actively looking for them.

I think it was in this same documentary they showed voting officials in (some) county being interviewed by the documentarians. You could see the head of the branch during the interview, trying not to follow with her eyes (and making it all the more obvious) one of her employees taking paper voting tabulations through the room and out the back door. The documentarians later fetched the paperwork from the dumpster there for their own investigation.

All of this dealt with elections from 20 years ago. I'm going to guess they've only become more sophisticated since.

    GOOD DAY.
