Who is playing innocent? Yes it’s personal. lol I don’t randomly call out everyone for being wrong on every single post I see. A pattern and history develops. When you make stupid posts over and over and over….yes I am going to mock them. So be prepared for more mocking, because I know the stupid posts will keep coming. You did not insert yourself into this thread to spur discussion. Your first post into the discussion was telling people they were wrong about how Les wanted his team built and that the strategy Morey chose was a failure. You didn’t have proof, no quotes, no articles, nothing that would concretely contradict what almost everyone else knows to be true. When everyone then says no….YOU are actually the one wrong, you start asking for proof that you yourself didn’t even provide in your original post claiming Les never set a mandate.
Like I say, we'll have to agree to disagree. It's no shock for me that the minute most of those players weren't playing with Beard they were never as effective again. Many of them played with Morey again and still sucked ass too. I think people attribute the credit to the wrong man myself. I give Morey all the credit in the world pre-Harden. Post-Harden I think the further you get into the partnership the less credit Morey deserves and the more he ran out of juice once the rest of the league caught up to the numbers based stuff. If he was as great as people think he'd have had another idea to stay competitive, so far he hasn't.
Honestly, I've been thinking about the Durant trade lately, and while I wasn't on board with it initially, I'm realizing there are layers to that move that I didn't recognize. 1. This trade made the Suns worse and we own their picks in 2027 and 2029. If you think a lineup of Booker, Green, Brooks & Dunn, and Mark Williams (on the rare occasions he is healthy) is going to compete in the West, I don't know what to tell you. Bradley Beal is a far more efficient player than Green and he didn't fit well with Booker either. Without something radical happening in the next year, that 2027 pick is going to be golden. And with the insane Booker extension, there is little room to add quality players through free agency. They'll need to hit on some undrafted players and overseas free agents to improve their position and that's not an easy thing to do. 2. Durant has very little leverage in contract extension negotiations. It is now projected that the cap will only increase 7% next season, rather than the previously projected 10%. That will make it that much more difficult for teams to create the kind of cap room necessary to sign a star like Durant. As of right now, the only teams that look like they may have the space are the Lakers, Wizards and Nets. We know a 38 year old Durant is not returning to the Nets and is not on the Wizards time line (and unlikely to have interest in playing there). This leaves only the Lakers as a potential alternate destination. That said, they would have to let Lebron and Reeves walk to get that kind of room AND the Lakers have to be interested in adding a 38 year old Durant, when it would seem more likely that the goal is to bring in someone (or multiple someones) closer to Luka's age. I think they're going to be able to extend Durant for considerably cheaper than the rumored 2 years 100 million figure that keeps being thrown around. I am honestly not going to be surprised if it's as low as 2 years 80 million. I'm interested to see how this plays out. I only wish the Rockets controlled the 2026 Suns pick. I hope the 2027 draft class is strong though, because between owning the Suns pick and having swap rights with Brooklyn, two lottery picks, possibly even two top 5 picks, is totally in play for 2027. Can you believe that's on the horizon when we're set to contend for the two seasons before that draft? Stone has been very good despite the handful of lunatics around here who claim otherwise.
Nope. I called you out. I simply asked a question to another fan. You responded by being a piece of shi + posting a meme mocking me due to a grudge and a weak mind. No accountability until i called you out. And again you admit to nothing just as most people on this site admit to nothing. Do not act like you are any different. If you did not open your mouth with disrespect we would not have this conversation. I have liked @Corrosion and @Dobbizzle comments even though I might not agree with them fully. @Corrosion showed me a single source. I accept it. When have you ever been gracious or humble about anything? You are in no position to speak. Do you know what a source is? I even included a quote from morey and explained the Rockets rebuilding with Francis. You obviously were too emotional and biased to accept anything. You thinking im wrong on most things is your opinion. Your bias. Who cares what you think. But you made it personal. A personal mission to disrespect when i could care less about your existence. The fact that you see this as right or wrong shows how stupid and petty you are. Unlike you who hold no original thought, I will always question when things don’t make sense and there’s no source. Do us both a favor and do not respond to my posts and you won’t get treated like trash.
@jordnnnn A simple discussion. Just like any of the thousands of discussions on here. No name calling like you. No disrespect. Asked a question and gave my view. You had a problem with this because you’re a petty bi+ch. this is bi+ch behavior. You made it personal. This has been going on for years. Years. Is this not odd to you? You made this personal for years when nothing I said concerned you. I need you to think about this deeply in that small brain of yours. You have an internal issue here and deep into your feelings against me. Maybe unresolved since I hurt your feelings in the past? Lol This means I’m in your mind. Again I could care less about you but you keep responding to my comments with disrespect for years. This makes you a petty little piece shi+ in my toilet bowl.
If he extends Durant for as low as that, and then also gets Tari on a good deal then I think he actually could be in contention for the award tbh. Obviously we'd have to also have a very good season/postseason. But it'd be fairly undeniable to not only flip Jalen into KD, but also extend him on a crazy low number and also manage to extend the players we do want to keep...Yeah that'd be some good GMing right there.
We'll have to keep an eye on it, but I just don't see who else is in the running for an aged 38 KD. I'm sure there are teams that would love a sign and trade for him, but that's not the worst outcome in the world either depending on the trade. We'll see where it lands.
Another response lol. For 2 years you have been doing this: taking it personal and having feelings being emotional on a personal mission to annoy, refute, harass me. You know how crazy, stupid and weak that sounds? I never read what you have to say because it doesn’t matter to me. But you constantly respond. This is what inferior bi+ch men do. This means I am in your head. I am constantly in your mind. I own you.
There's a reason why everyone is disagreeing with you on this topic .... perhaps that's a data point to be examined. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am used to having an unpopular opinion or having a different approach in all things. New ways of thinking or analyzing things. This is no different my friend. Just because 3 people don’t agree with me doesn’t mean they are right. I am in the business of backing up your statements and verifying information. I have worked in journalism and I know how writers write to hide the fact that they really don’t have a source and make it look like they do when it’s just an opinion. Never said anyone was wrong. Already explained in depth what I think. This is all its about.
OoooOOOooOooo you're an avant garde, free thinker........ But, I'm confused to as why you haven't provided any evidence for your side of the story or why you would think people not liking Morey would have any relevance to the topic. Having been on GARM for longer, people who seem to have a more negative view of Morey tend to give him more owner like decision making abilities.
What evidence? I never said Les didn’t have a mandate. I simply asked @BimaThug where he got that info from just like I asked couple others. And I said I don’t see one credible media source that have cited where they got the info from but instead those articles looked like the ones I am used to seeing in journalism (opinions disguised as facts). As I have said I jjust know Morey, Stone, Whitus have collectively made a lot of deals since Morey got here in 07. This has been the approach in his tenure. Also Dawson built thru the draft in the francis yao years. Unless les went with a different approach and mandated Morey at some point. Morey has the same approach in Philly busy with acquiring stars i instead of getting quality free agents to surround Embiid. There isn’t one article that has a quote or citing sources about Les’ mandate so to me there’s information gaps. @Corrosion sent me a lone source that said the writer spoke to Morey. Ok I accept it. Still odd no one else has quotes or cites sources. This changes the calculus and if there was some mandate those who criticize Morey’s approach should understand he was under constraints and pressure to make deals instead of drafting.
Morey did a good job with the Rockets until the Westbrook trade. He didn’t get us to the finals and that is an indicator that he didn’t do a great job. You can make all the excuses you want, but he didn’t get it done. He has completely sucked as a GM in Philadellphia and that is a fact. The signing of PG may be the single worst FA signing in the history of NBA basketball. He stole Harden and that is pretty much the source of his supposed genius. Nothing else stands out as outstanding regardless of any ownership directive.
I guess it’s just weird to think that the owner doesn’t set the direction of the team he owns. Just because Les bottomed out once, doesn’t mean he wants to do it again. This is all pretty much common knowledge by the folks who were around here pre Harden. Morey was brought here to compete in 2007 so of course he made a lot of deals. Your cause and effect just isn’t adding up. This is fandom. Folks are going to blame Morey for the Westbrook trade even though that was a Tilman pursuit.
I never said the owner doesn’t set parameters. People citing a mandate is a very specific thing as not all teams do this. So the question is when, why, how did this happen?
We just don’t think the right way I guess. Oh well https://www.theringer.com/2025/03/06/nba/philadelphia-76ers-joel-embiid-injury-nba-draft-pick-odds
