Yeah he's an enigma at this point. No way should we be where we are considering the injuries. But you watch the fundamentals of this team and you scratch your head and once again ask yourself how are we winning games. Now you're dealing with a potential devastating injury to your elite closer and can't help but wonder about Hader's usage this year. Add on his lack of fire when we are getting screwed by the ump. If we get a bye for the playoffs, there is a reasonable chance he's the manager of the year. An enigma indeed.
Man...I'm looking at Hader's game log this season, and he threw more than one inning 7 times all season long, but 4 of those were within the last month. Before that, it's typically be several weeks between extended outings. I think you are right that Espada caused this.
The people that complain about using Hader too much also complain every time they don't use Hader. Really, most of the Espada nonsense comes from a few people that complain about literally everything.
He's also facing fewer batters per inning this year and throwing fewer pitches per batter. He's been hyper-efficient in getting outs this season.
They really used aircraft carrier for cam smith lol. I'm just gonna start calling him carrier cam from now on.
So is Pena hurt or is Joe just using yesterday to give him the extended breaks he loves so much? And we would be MUCH better off with Correa at SS when Pena sits Same lineup but Correa SS, Urias 3B and Dubon 2B would make the defense better at all three positions
If he can't play, he can't play But Correa has played SS ALL YEAR Urias has played 3B ALL YEAR Dubon has mainly played 2B ALL YEAR Just doesn't make sense to have them all at positions they haven't played much, when every damn game is so important
Has a 1.65 ERA at the Ice Box Since giving up 5 earned at home on April 2nd, he has given up 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 0, 0, 0, 1 runs at home. And gone 6+ in all but one of those. Absolute domination
