    Overpriced.

I would also like if he moved the team to St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati or Kansas City.

Why do you want the team to move?

I think Seattle will eventually get a team, but there’s no real need for two in that region. I’d rather see some of those other cities that already have established professional teams get a major sports franchise.

I think Seattle is the NBA's version of what LA used to be for the NFL: a relocation boogeyman. The Blazers have been in the northwest for over 50 years. Moving them to other cities, some of which failed to support professional basketball in the past, doesn't make sense. More west coast teams means a more balanced TV product, too. The NBA should want good teams in Portland and Seattle to diversify the second half of Thursday doubleheaders. Then again, they may just show the Lakers 26 times a year now that they have Luka. Don't forget that one of the league's biggest partners, Nike, is located just outside of Portland.

If any team "needs" to move it's New Orleans. Professional basketball has never caught on there, the franchise is an afterthought for its ownership group, and the market itself is, by far, the smallest in the NBA.

Great post! I hadn’t looked at it that way before, and I agree with you about New Orleans.

Seattle is twice the distance away from Portland, as Philly is from NYC. City distance isn't the issue. Unless you mean the entire PNW region doesn't have enough support for 2 NBA teams.

Getting teams away from the West Coast would be amazing for everyone. Players included.

Louisville is a city that could use a team. Raleigh/Durham another. The Clippers are probably the biggest waste of a franchise followed by Blazers and New Orleans.

Maybe it has something to do with Hugo back in the day which caused a tree to fall through my sister's roof.
Except for people in the Carolinas, it's the forgotten hurricane.

I literally forget the pelicans exist. lol

I really hope Seattle gets their team back.

I’m spoiled being from Houston, but a team in Kentucky or Missouri or Mississippi or Alabama just sounds weird for some reason

I guess I could see St.Louis or Kansas City but any other cities wouldn’t seem like a legit pro team.

but then again whoever thought Oklahoma City would be a thing and yet here they are as NBA champs

whatever happened to NBA’s plans to try to get a team in Mexico City like how they did in Canada?

That would be super interesting if we had a NBA Mexico City team now given the current Geo Political Climate :D

probably will have the best fans and attendance, but Adam Silver is scared of the cartels. What would the team name be called?

El Senguno would be the first pick of the expansion draft.

Played around with ChatGPT and here were the final choices I liked:

Tiered Shortlist (Heritage + NBA Fit)
    1. Mexico City Ocelots → unique, warrior heritage, fresh sound.
    2. Mexico City Serpents → mythological, sleek, killer logo.
    3. Mexico City Condors → historical precedent, majestic.
    4. Mexico City Templo Mayor → bold heritage, iconic, maybe too formal but marketable.
    5. Mexico City Zócalo → deep cultural tie, but leans more symbolic than fierce.

⚡ If the NBA wanted to play it safe, they’d go Aztecs/Jaguars.

But if they wanted identity + authenticity, I’d put money on Ocelots or Serpents — rare enough to be fresh, but still sound like a team you’d see on ESPN.
