It was never about ‘millians’ pouring in…
    never about inflation…
    never about debt…
    Never about the economy.

    And now…
    it’s not even about crime.

Stories change .. prejudices stay the same!!

Lol. My hometown. You aren’t safe in Anacostia, definitely not at night. I know parts of Capitol hill you wouldn’t travel on foot at night. The mall and dupont and Georgetown etc have never been where the major violent crime problems are. DC is a very rough city. Obviously, the downtown government buildings, the Smithsonian, the kennedy center, and other high traffic tourist areas like the ones you mentioned aren’t the parts of the city that made it the murder capital of the country (and world for a few years) for so many years.

No, it really is about crime. DC has very high crime. Trump is trying to reduce it.

I wonder how many people on here go around Houston shaking like a b*tch because of all the “violent crime”

We need to be consistent in using absolute or relative terms. Otherwise it will just be Trump talk.

reducing crime requires a plan, not knee jerk reaction. I don’t see a man with a plan

I see a high crime city. "The plan" cannot be to pursue the status quo... which clearly has failed. Did you SEE the head of police for DC? She was deer in the headlights and didn't even know what chain of command meant. That cannot be the plan.

Dedicating more resources to support the policing effort is at least a new approach. Changing leadership is a new approach. Both are superior alternatives to continuing on a path that put DC as the highest murder/violent crime "state" in the union... Obviously something needs to change. Our nation's capital shouldn't look like 1993 Mogadishu.

Nor our president act like Xi or Putin …

the selectiveness of these actions cannot be ignored.

Did you call the governors of Kentucky, Minnesota, New York, New Mexico, and Texas by the same Xi and Putin taunts when they called in the National Guard to assist with policing in their states over the last 5 years?

Or since it's Trump, then we automatically (knee jerk) jump to the Xi/Putin attack line...

Examples of issues with crime statistics:
    • D.C. underreporting:
A recent article from The White House says the Metro Police Department leadership is allegedly manipulating crime statistics to make them appear better.
    • Variations in reporting:
Some cities may report more crime than others, not necessarily because there is more crime, but because their law enforcement agencies are more effective at identifying offenses.
    • Data collection limitations:
Not all cities report data for all offense types, and some may not have complete data for the most recent periods.

You bet I would feel differently if my loved one was a victim of these crimes? There is always going to be crime. I have been a victim of crime and I have had loved ones that were victims of crime. My aunt was raped in Florida, I didn't blame the Republican mayor or Governor. Politics never entered my mind.

As for Chicago, how much time have you spent in Chicago? What do you really know about Chicago? My wife was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago as an immigrant. I spend a lot of time in the South Side of Chicago, I am in the worst parts of Chicago (Garfield Park) quite a bit, I am involved in mentoring and a non profit there. I have posted about how 90% of the violence in Chicago is in 3-4 neighborhoods.

The people of Chicago, in these neighborhoods do not want Donald Trump or the national guard there. They want to be left alone, they didn't like when Biden housed Venezuelan refugees there either. The vast majority of the people in these areas are like everyone else.

You know they only leave their bubbles in the woodlands or friendswood for an occasional Texans or astros game, and consider the Discovery Green area “a little rough”.
