This is like Alabama getting caught cheating and the NCAA puts Florida A&M on probation.

Why do I feel like Ohtani is the Godfather in this situation and Mizuhara owed him for the original favor.

The commissioner new better than to pursue it further

Because that is what they did? They literally waited and took 4-5 fringe MLB/minor leaguers - banned them and once the interpreter was in trouble, shoe horned that Ohtani is good…

Clase can't find an interpreter with dubious character to do the same?

What if Clase was Yankees property? Is he much safer?

Oh it was the greatest sleight of hand execution in the entire history of sports.

And then go get all the biggest names in mlb media to get on board and to question nothing was really something to behold. Not only were they not questioning it, they were imploring you to believe that the golden boy was totally innocent.

The investigation was done by the FBI, not MLB.

If MLB and FBI arrests and bans Shohei Ohtani, no doubt Japan will blackball and Ban MLB with no merchandise sales, or sending Japanese Players to MLB.

Roki Sasaki, Yamamoto and all these players could be called back to Japan.

Yeah, nobody has been able explain to me why the FBI would bury wire fraud charges against Ohtani and pin them and other charges on a fall guy.

...other than "the Dodgers suck and conspiracy theories are fun"

"Japan" - as in the nation state? The Nation-State of Japan is going to ban MLB? People aren't going to be able to buy MLB merchandise or watch MLB streams in Japan? And the government is going to enforce that? What?

Who is going to "call back" the Japanese players in MLB?

    The Emperor? haha.

Isn't the purpose of a fall guy to limit the evidence to another person? Whether Ippei was just a fall guy or acted alone, the FBI can only act on the evidence that it has. The evidence the FBI has is that Ippei was the one who physically committed the acts. I'm sure the FBI asked Ohtani if he ordered the Code Red, but unlike Colonel Jessup, Ohtani kept his mouth shut whether he was innocent or not.
