Damn. I keep hearing theres no reason to panic because the Astros are 5 games up in the division. 4 games up. 3 games up. 2 games up. 1.5 games up. 0.5 games up. 1 game up. 0 games up. ugh
I say that if you are going to get beat, cover yourself in filth so the stink will never leave you. Mission accomplished!
And there's still no reason to panic. There's still 25% of the season to go. Both the Astros and Mariners are going to lose a lot of games during that time. Both teams will win a lot of games as well. There will likely be times when the Mariners are playing better. And times the Astros are. It's how baseball works. The Astros build a big cushion when we had the easiest schedule in baseball in June. The Mariners are gaining ground when they have the easier schedule. Big deal.
will this offense ever going to pick it up? sick and tired of low scoring, bases loaded stranding, and losbtering bats.
From the looks of it, they have a much easier schedule going forward too, outside of a couple of road series in NY and PHI it's not a difficult schedule. Doesn't mean everything but just pointing that out. There are reasons to be optimistic about the Astros too. The lineup looks like it's finally coming together a bit. Javier looked good. Arrighetti looked pretty good too all things considered. Hopefully will be getting some more guys back soon too. But the bullpen is an absolute mess right now. And overall they just haven't played good clean consistent baseball in awhile, and adding a bunch of new faces and bringing guys back from injury usually doesn't lend itself to that - at least not immediately. I'm not panicking, but it kinda feels like you (and others) have been whistling past the graveyard for awhile now.
