Agree - I think all of us will....but my expectations for that are very low based on what I saw from this clip alone.
Same people that always overreact, are overreacting. Always looking for something negative, even when he’s played extremely well and turned into a good defender. Fake Rocket fans
Seriously, why are we caring about how well he does in meaningless international games? People need to chill out, I'm sure Alpi will be just fine.
Group Phase schedule for Turkey: 27Aug vs. Latvia. 10:00 am (CDT) 29Aug vs. Czechia. 6:45 am 30Aug vs. Portugal. 1:15 pm 01Sep vs. Estonia. 6:45 am 03Sep vs. Serbia (Jokic). 1:15 pm Next "friendly" is Fri/15Aug vs. Germany at 11:00am where I expect a much better performance by Alpi and his team.
I need to see him shooting 3s, winning meaningless games against basketball scrubs is not all that great other than getting to watch him play. DD
There are obviously NBA tier players and good players on those teams. But have you seen most of the basketball being played? This is scrub ball, I'm sorry. College ball is way more entertaining than most of it. Tbh Euroleague is too, because the top European clubs have better cohesiveness too. I wouldn't go as far as saying most domestic Europe leagues aren't much better than scrub ball though. From an entertainment perspective at least.
I guess I don't see anything wrong with what he said there. A lot of those guys out there are significantly below league standard, how many teams don't have several scrub tier players out there? Edit: I was bored so I checked. Here are the teams Latvia - 1 NBA player, couple of legit Euroleague players, not that many. Portugal - Wiki doesn't have a list, but that suggest nobody of note Serbia - 5 NBA players, that's a decent lil roster. Still a fair number of scrubs, but you could probably put together something resembling a real game Turkey - Alpi and scrubs, apparently they have a 6ers player but I've never heard of him so I'm assuming Nate Williams tier Finland - no list, see Portugal Germany - 3 NBA players and a lot of real Euroleague players. Decent squad, can't argue. Great Britain - As somebody who lives here - LOL, biggest scrubs around Lithuania - Valancunias and scrubs Montenegro - no list, see Portugal Sweden - no list, see Portugal Bosnia & Herzogovina - no list, see Portugal (are you seeing the trend yet?) Cyprus - no list, see Portugal (how bout now?) Georgia - no list, see Portugal (must be sinking in now, this is actually a country too, not the state which would have more than enough players on Wikipedia to create a list) Greece - Giannis! And a bunch of real Euroleague players, another decent team. Italy - Apparently one of these guys plays for the Heat, but that may be a scam tbh I don't believe he exists. Everyone else is a mix of Euroleague so they're probably decent but no real NBA star power so they'd get smashed by our stay ready squad with ease. Spain - See Italy but with more NBA level talent and ability, if scrub level mostly. Belgium - no list, see Portugal (sigh) France - No Wemby, but they've got Alex Sarr and some other role player level players and again what appears to be decent level club players. So probably in the Spain/Italy tier Iceland - no list, see Portugal (lol) Israel - No real Euroleague tier players, more like the Turkey league level/Eurocup scrub tiers, but with no Alpi to lean on. Looks like they have Tennessee Vols college player Poland - like a poor man's Turkey with a lesser star and worse players..lol Slovenia - Luka and...checks notes..yeah scrubs. I mean it's not all the clubs, but that's completely scrub level basketball opponents let's be quite brutally honest about it.
