Wow, what a great game, playoff atmosphere and you got everything you wanted, Breggy did good but it didnt beat us, Correa played great, Javier pitched his ass off and you got late game drama. It was a hell of a game, the standig O Correa got was just awesome, the juice box.......errrrr, the ice box was rocking...................it was a 9/10 night and the only spoiler was Hadar being hurt. Its hard to top last night............makes Tuesday am that much sweeter. PS, man I sure miss Breggy...............love that dude

There’s a lot more parity (or just no true dominant team) in both leagues…. But moreso in the AL.

I’d say any time a 100+ win regular season team gets beat early in the playoffs by a 80 or 90 win wild card team, its a major upset… even though in baseball, it can happen at any point. There’s just very little separation between any of these teams this year…. And they’re all going to end up with around 90-95 wins.

Nice win in front of 40,000.

    Now DFA Neris. Get Pressly.

    Said a prayer for Hader.

Astros have won 5 of 7.

    A couple of things.

I was in Dallas and League city last week. Was amazed that I could not watch the Stros on My MLB Extra Innings because of blackout while in the Metroplex.

that was neither here or there, but I got home in time to watch the Astros last night, and I thought Javier was going to get train wrecked watching the first inning, but kudos to him for putting it back together.

Also last nights game was the firs time I felt like we could score at any given time. And that was against a very solid picture.

Good to be home, but I will be missing my favorite Mexican restaurants by the end of the week.
4 days into our trip my Irish wife leaned over the table to me at my favorite restaurant and said, "No more Mexican food please".

I don't think we have ever scored against a solid picture before...

Javier had Kikuchi type of start. Gave up a hit. Gave up a homerun. Then shutout the rest of the way. Team went on to win by 1 lol.

Again, fair. But you also have had bullshit teams like the Diamondbacks, the Phillies (in 2022), the Braves (in 2021) knock out the big dogs in the NL and make it to the WS.

And this year I’d bet a lot of money that the Brewers, as ****ing awesome as they are, will find a way to **** it up.

Yes… because baseball. The Astros were one of those “bullshit” teams once upon a time (2005). Eventually led to changes to try and punish the wild card team (one game playoff).

I had to grin at this one, because a technological advancement like Google Voice (or any translator for that matter) still to this day can't distinguish a human being saying pitcher versus picture. That's pathetic. Although there is a little trick, which is you just say baseball pitcher and it will most times understand the context and choose the word pitcher. Not always, because the technology is still dumb as shyt.

That team should have won 95+ games, led by Clemens (Cy Young), Pettitte (5th in the Cy Young), and Roy O (4th in the Cy Young). That would easily explain how an 89 win team could get to the World Series.

The bats came to life with the packed crowd's energy. So, we've been whining about offensive production, but I now blame the lackluster weekday crowds. We're to blame. "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves."

I've seen this across fanbases and across sports. People complaining about attendance/lack of attendance online and my reaction to it always is "unless you're there yourself you don't have any room to talk and should stfu."

Sitting your ass at home complaining about how other people don't take the time/effort/money to go to games when you're not doing it yourself. STFU you gas bag.

I lived in Dallas for 8 years...not as good as the Mexican food in Houston.

For Tex-Mex, E-Bar was probably my favorite place when considering price, quality, etc. As for Mexican, Javier's is a cool environment (they have a cigar lounge) and the food is good but it's pricey. Meso Maya is a better option if you don't want to pay those prices.
