The Astro disappointment is enough to deal with. CJ running for his life will be a major bummer. Houston sports seldom reward their fans. When it happens, cherish it.

Probably 2011 and 2012. The only time this franchise has ever had a good o line.

Seems the Texans have struggled mightily when it comes to building a top tier OL. More often than not, it seems the Texans are amongst the worst OL in the league.

Even this year, I am hoping for a mediocre OL. The unit doesn’t look elite, and here is to hoping that the guys hold the fort, at least long enough for Stroud to aim the ball as the play called for…

and that's what is so frustrating, we are stacked on D and on specialty positions on offense, but this O Line can bring the whole thing down....................hoping they do a 180 when there done at the Greenbriar

Water under the bridge now, but I still believe we should have jumped up to 21 or 22.

IMHO Nick thought surely 1 of Golden or DJax (my preference) was going to make it to 24.

I am also sure GB & MN knew that.

I don't think it was a shot at Robaire. It's just describing what it was. It takes time to master, 4 years the first time around when Meco was a rook. They had no where who to block in zone.

What bothered me was that they didn't even try to master it. Usually you bring in the center who is familiar with said offense like they did this year with Edwards. Instead they doubled down with non Kubahan players like Shaq Mason and a rookie center. Still puzzled.

My eye test disagrees with PFF on this one, but that's because I don't blame the O line for plays where they were set up to fail with poor protection schemes, I tend to blame the QB for not seeing blitzes coming and changing the protections at the line to pick up the extra guy and for not knowing it was coming and getting rid of the ball quickly. PFF would blame the O line for that type of situation.

There's been talk that the QB didn't have the ability to change schemes at the LOS and audible into something else last season, which if true is absolutely absurd....but would make a bit of sense given how awful they looked at times. If that changes this season, and if Stroud is capable of seeing those things and making the right changes, it should be cause for DRASTIC improvement even if nothing else improves.

Back before the Duane Brown debacle. Dude put a voodoo curse on the OL on his way out.

I'm watching on record and am behind a good bit, but #78 whoever he is just got destroyed on an outside rush on a 3rd-2 when they should/would have run the ball in normal non-preseason circumstances.

Hopefully Robinson makes it back soon and Trent Brown gets healthy. If this happens we will never see Fisher on the field.

I’ve been following training camp pretty closely. If this were a regular season game and Robinson is still not available they would play Tytus Howard at right tackle and Ersery at left tackle. Tytus didn’t play this game because he’s starting no matter what and he’s a veteran. Fisher hasn’t played with the 1s at all really during training camp because he’s been awful.

Why do we have teams in Houston that focus so much on defense and not offense?

Stroud could turn into David Carr if we don't protect him.

That's literally impossible. CJ actually has talent.

    What?
Carr had tons of talent. More physical talent than CJ.
Stroud is a much better Quarterback and has better approach/work ethic
