No need to apologize. I’m as irrational and unintelligent (as I was recently called by a rather vocal member here) as the next fan here when it comes to the negativity, sometimes more so. You’re right we are a spoiled fanbase so it’s been tough dealing with adversity again haha.

I was a fan since before we ever managed a 500 season. It could easily be worse. But it's true you have to be an old fogey like me to remember struggling for even longer than the rebuild of 2011-2015.

Don’t be melodramatic. It’s not a federal crime to be overly negative, it’s just a stupid waste of time that detracts from the overall enjoyment of the site. A dose of realism is fine every once in awhile if the Pollyanna’s take over, but the constant battering of “woe are the Astros” over the last month is tiresome af and not at all warranted. They’re in first ****ing place and they just added Carlos ****ing Correa back, for gods sake. If you can’t be excited now, wtf are you even doing paying attention to this team. It honestly seems like trolling.

This is the essence of it and I think is what makes it so ridiculous to many of us. People are making themselves miserable now to protect themselves from maybe being miserable down the road. So they are proactively creating their worst case scenario, and in the process, taking away all of their enjoyment from the season.

Even if the Astros ultimately win the World Series, they'll have spent the majority of the 7 month season miserable and complaining and freaking out. What is even the point of sports in that case?

(to clarify: I'm not talking about you; just all the people who eternally panic and complain about every game and every decision the team makes)

Actually, he is a much better poster than you. You’re a clown.

Well the lead is all but gone. Don’t feel encouraged by today’s matchup. If you leave runners on base you’re going to lose. IF they get runners on base.

your insane meltdown cussing out every poster on a thread and derailing the topic because someone happened to disagree with your political belief didn’t at all detract from the enjoyment of the site, not to
Mention all the times YOU overreact to other users here and make things weirdly personal with the cussing? Definitely not trolling.

for the record I very much appreciate and enjoy what you bring to the site but let’s not act like you’re the paragon of proper site etiquette here. Yes I’m
Negative, perhaps without good cause. But we just blew a 6 game lead in the division and lead by 0.5 games. To expect every poster here to subscribe to senseless optimism as if there’s only one correct way to be a fan is absurd.

Actually batters 4 thru 9 for Houston looks pretty bad. Where’s Yordan?

Sanchez has been good. Would rather he get more AB’s by batting higher, but I can also see they’re trying to avoid having 5 slumping (or bad) hitters in a row.

Right? I post this same sentiment every time I see posts like that. FFS get a life. 99% of the time those posters pop up after a loss to cheer on doom and gloom. What a miserable existence……

I have a hard time saying anything bad about this year's team. Losing Tucker and Bregman, coupled with the tremendous amount of injuries, and we still are in good shape for a playoff spot, and maybe the division title.

His OPS vs. lefties is slightly above .500.
