I'll also remind people that there are something like 30 states that have laws that forbid state government from entering into contracts with companies that boycott Israel. Texas, for example, must get a company's affirmation they don't boycott to sign a contract over $100k. The amount of government bullying to muzzle free speech about Israel is pretty alarming.

In TX, the anti-BDS law was blocked on free speech grounds. The 5th Circuit dismissed the case due to lack of standing (the contract proceeded without requiring a boycott clause) so the court never ruled on the law’s merits. Someone else with standing (required to sign a boycott clause) would need to sue for it to proceed.

 

It's the other way around. FEMA under Biden gave North Carolina what they requested and needed for Hurricane Helene. FEMA under Trump denied North Carolina's request for Helene relief, reversing Biden's approval.

 

Palestinians in 2005 voted Hamas into power. Half of Gaza wasn't alive when that happened and there were never elections afterwards. Blaming children for the sins of their fathers is pretty Old Testament.

This topic hurts because each side is, by and large, led by religious zealots who cannot be reasoned with and believe that God Himself is telling them to kill the others. It's why this geopolitical hot stove never cools down.

Who attacked who? If I was Nettenyahu I would have told Hamas to kill the hostages if they wish and the Israelis would exterminate Hamas after that. Doing this would have actually saved more lives than the 500 or so hostages.
