MLB is ****ed then, and ignores its history.

There's the Championship Season (ie the regular season), and then the Postseason. There were 2 Leagues and the 2 Champions played in a true World Series. It's why "Winning a Pennant" was a huge deal.

I don't care what Manfred wants to call it now.

I gave you the actual stated reason behind the rule change.
I think I would prefer a real taxi squad where you could have 40 on the roster but only activate 28 to be eligible for the game. That could kill two birds with one stone.

Maybe I don't believe you, chachi?

Kidding, I didn't read/hear/listen to what you said earlier. My bad.

I considered reporting by MLB's reporters on MLB.com to be fairly official.

Perhaps you'd like to hear from the commish?

Rob Manfred says MLB will discuss postseason format, but commissioner likes it - The Athletic

“My own view on this is that our teams play really hard all year long to get into the playoffs,” Manfred continued. “But one of the greatest things about the playoffs in baseball is, anybody can win. And, you know, it’s about the competition that takes place in the postseason. … I don’t think what happened this year is all that out of line with history.”

    Or perhaps a manager:

Rob Manfred defends new playoff structure as top seeds eliminated yet again, including three 100-win teams - CBSSports.com

"I don't think that five days is ideal, but that's the playoff structure," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told the Associated Press. "The world's not perfect. A couple-day break would have been nice. But five's a little ..."

Maybe AJ Hinch? In the middle of the season AJ Hinch asked the Tigers, “What kind of team do you want to be?” “I guess you wanted to be a playoff team!”

    Or Carlos Correa.

“When he told (me) that we were going to go into rebuild mode,” Correa said, “I said then I deserve to go somewhere where I have a chance to win and my kids can watch me go out there in the playoffs and perform. He agreed with me and he said out of respect for me he would get to work.”

I think everyone except you might call it a playoff...

    2024 Buck...

(to your credit, I was actually looking for references to you calling the postseason a playoff, but didn't find any)
