Position labels don't matter on offense. On defense, Amen and Okogie are our SG.

Why are people on here still whining about Cam Whitmore and he's not on team anymore?
I think the front office knew Cam's potential, but he wasn't taking Tari or Bari minutes...so if Cam didnt like his role, why keep a disgruntled player??? His a$$ is gone so yall get over your feelings!
Our team is legit this year!!!

It's about the fact that we all can see that this team is one injury away from being one dimensional. If you think you hated some of Green's moves on offense, just wait for an entire season of Amen and Okogie at SG. Things can get ugly quickly. Running a team without even a moderately elite SG is just bad basketball.

We haven’t had moderately elite SG play for some time. How far would we have to turn back the clock to find that player?

We still lost with Jalen Green when FVV, Sengun, and Amen missed games...our roster has improved since last season. People on here got wet dreams of Cam. Let that man create memories in Washington!
By the way, I was a fan of Cam and wanted him to compete against Jabari for a starting spot this upcoming season...getting KD and DFS are excellent upgrades from what we had last season...

This is the era of positionless NBA. 2, 3, 4 are completely fluid positions.

As such, Amen is definitely the starting SG and he's easily better than Cam. After that, the Rockets probably have 11 more players that can play SG, at least in spots.

Again, having a backup PG is the biggest gap. The Rockets have three players on the roster to fill that role, Amen, Reed, and Holiday. That's a problem. KD can play some SG, but he can't play PG.

Elite as a basketball player or elite as an NBA player? Jalen as an NBA player was elite in about 15% of his games last year, not including playoffs. Maybe 20%. Points aren't everything.

Lots of teams are just one injury away from being out. Thats what happens when you pay 30% to a player and he is gone.

Look at Celtics went from contender to tanking team just cuz Tatum is out for the season. Same with Pacers. I highly doubt Nuggets, Bucks, OKC will fare any better if they lose their best player. Even during Morey era Rox would have been screwed any year Harden was out with injury.

I dont think there's even been teams that are still seen as contenders when their franchise guy is out. So while I understand your concern thats a risk thats inherent in every team paying somebody a max contract.
