No. If Paredes heals enough where he can stick at third base, Correa will be the Astros primary second baseman next year. If he doesn’t, the Astros will see if he has the lateral mobility to play second base. If that’s not doable, he moves to first base, and the Astros eat money to move on from Christian Walker.

That is some fairly wild conjecture.

    But ok.

I would rather have this problem than the one weve had for the last month

Rangers will be DEADLY if they make the playoffs. That rotation is filthy.

Minnesota in serious 90s Marlins-style fire sale mode.

Biggest winners of the trade deadline:

    Blue Jays
    Phillies (Duran is that significant)
    Astros
    Mariners

Probably missing a team or 2.

Of the two, (1) Correa has the stronger arm, and (2) Paredes has experience playing 2B. I don't see why they'd move Correa again given those facts.

Nothing I said is conjecture. Isaac Paredes was fine at third base before tearing his hamstring to shreds. If his hamstring recovery doesn’t rob him of the ability to adequately play the position, Paredes remains at third base in 2026, and Correa is the opening day second baseman.

If this significant injury saps Paredes’ mobility to the point he can’t play third base, Correa will start there, and Paredes shifts positions. Whether that is second base or first base depends on how much lateral mobility he has after the injury.

I'm really expecting Harden to be traded to the Astros as the perfect setup man

2005 Astros vibes, which we know is a year where baseball mysteriously was not played.
