Who would have guessed those old Confederate states would discriminate against black people? SMH

 

I think all of those states had to submit for pre-approval of voting districts under the Voting Rights Act until the Supreme Court decided in 2013 that that requirement was obsolete. And look what happened.

Is there not a thread about what Abbott is trying to do to House Representation for the Houston, TX area? This mid-decade redistricting scheme doesn't just affect us as Americans and Texans, but specifically as Houstonians. Houston-area districts held by Al Green, Sylvia Garcia, and the late Sylvester Turner. Maybe I just suck with the Search feature, but I don't see where we are all in a tizzy talking about it.

I'm not too crazy about the Democrats' threat of retaliatory gerrymandering in CA or NY. Someone will say Dems need to do it and embrace fighting dirty. But these are our votes they are using as a political football. It's like saying 'if you rape my girlfriend then I'm going to rape your girlfriend too!' and then have your buddy Beto tell you, 'don't wait for that guy -- just go rape his girlfriend!' like none of these girlfriends are people. House Districts might be the worst mistake of our Founding Fathers.

 

This is the worst in politics, you should not be able to redraw just because you want more seats......................this is so UNAMERICAN
