And starting to get healthy. A better homestand would have been nice but we are moving on. I am almost want to see better teams on the schedule at this point.

 

It would not surprise me if the Astros finish as the 1 seed. This will be the 2nd year in a row without a 100-win team in the AL (2017-2023 all have a 100-win team in full seasons). I'm not sure an AL team exceeds 95 wins this year. Parity has hit the AL.

Also, we're going to look back on this season and wonder how Cooper Hummell really got 200 PA with a 50 OPS+. He's worse than Maldonado at his very nadir as an Astro.

 

Underlying numbers point to Hummel having been more of a league average bat than bloody awful. He’s had some bad luck but he’s also had a couple of clutch hits.

 

Those first 5 dudes of Nats lineup batting lefty might get Gusto out pretty early. Yikes.

Sidenote. Astros after Arenado again. Please no, we don't need cooked righty bat on both corners making gazillion $.
