Who is Stoops? I just looked at the Texans' coach roster because you had me worried there was an Okie snuck in there
I thought the original tweet about Chubb was by Cody Stoops? Whatever his name is … that former QB who’s now a commentator Edit: I see it Stoots. Not Stoops like the OKC coach. My bad
I think this season is setting up to be very disappointing honestly I have no confidence in the oline. I'm very concerned about Mixons health. I think our defense will keep us in games but eventually tire out. Even if Mixon is healthy, will he even be effective if the oline is still garbage? Obviously I hope I'm wrong but it's just too many red flags and I see a huge letdown on the way
I have similar concerns. The hype machine is loud, but the OL is unproven, a virtual experiment. Mixon's injury is certainly concerning. If the OL is anything like last year, CJ will be running for his life again. I know last year was "successful" by some standards, but to actually win a championship game and go to the SB, the OL will have to be stellar.
To be more positive looks like they found a keeper in Ersery. Andrews supposedly has looked very good too.
I think the OL will be better, but certainly is still a weakness, especially early on. The lack of continuity will play havoc for a while. Hopefully our new coaching cabal has a few plans to get rid of the ball quickly in a variety of ways and a better mix of plays and adjustments than the idiot we had running the offense last year. I still wish we could bring 1 more solid starter into the fold before the year starts.
[Schatz] We ranked every NFL team by under-25 talent: Which teams have the best -- and worst -- young cores?
With a talent deficient OL no offense is going to look good. I'm hoping Trent Brown's healthy, because if he is then that's the OL you're looking for. The right side of the OL should be much better this year with an in shape Howard and Ersery over there.
I'm with ya. It can't possibly be as bad as last year, but I'm still not getting hyped thinking our O line will be great. Mixon's lingering foot problems do concern me though. I just hope it isn't a sign of things to come and repeating itself down the road. I just hope we pick the best prospect in the draft at RB next year.
I think it’ll be a cold day in hell before the Texans pick a RB in the first round, but I could see the 2nd or 3rd if one they really like is there.
Signing and bringing in Christian to prep him for next year is definitely something they should consider.
Looks like he might have turned things around quickly. Hopefully for the Bears he's a work in progress. If not, Ben "Tough as Nails" Johnson will definitely let the world know.
