While now might indeed be peak time to sell - a numbered autograph doesn't lose near as much value. That's a gigantic hit. Congrats!
You sure you're not looking at the bowman chrome? I'm seeing bowman paper like yours at $199 sold prices.
The one on page one of this thread is the paper version. It would say Bowman chrome in the top left if it was the chrome version.
Correct. It's definitely paper - though numbered so its a REALLY good paper card. Bowman Chrome has CHROME under the B/circle logo.
Bowman Chrome is not released until September. Now if it were last years it would have the 1st insignia in the upper right-hand corner. I guess its paper which all of the 2025s are at this point. I get my pricing from the PSA value website. My point was look at how it took off after the Astros game Check out the spike. Baseball cards are like free agents. They are worth what anyone will pay for them. Had lots of Vlady Jr cards. Dumped them while he was the "IT" guy. now they are not worth a lot. Thats why I always go bowman. Sorry about the crappy photos. Took from my computer at work. Shhhhh
That's the xfractor in your photo. There is also a blue chrome from 2025 that just sold on July 29 for $500. The one you have is also an awesome card. No doubt.
I bought his usa stars stripes auto for $2 at a show 2 years ago... Went from 70s to 175 after that game.
I think it's borderline criminal they use a sticker auto for Bowman Chrome auto.... product is expensive ...
I recommend topps pro debut or heritage minor league. Lots of autos and numbered parallels. No retail so the production runs are reasonable. Also, you can get hobby boxes under $100.
Since it's not a 1st bowman, I'd move it and spread that money over 3 or 4 cards... I'd probably still buy Kurtz but maybe a graded refractor and pick up a few other guys. Just hedging from a Wander Franco or Luis Robert situations...
My father bought me some cards and they came with a price guide, and my brain lit up when I saw that every card was a worth about 10 cents, except one. The Ryne Sanberg rookie. That was $5. And while I did not have that card, that lit my fire that this was worth my time.
Sell ASAP. This is why you don’t buy retail Bowman because the value is much less. That is a Kurtz sticker autograph, Bowman Chrome, or refractor (color cards) are on-card. Big difference is Bowman paper is not reflective and Bowman chrome are reflective and shiny. On the back of the Kurtz card is different from the Kurtz Blue Refractor. Sticker autograph on Bowman is a big negative and they don’t gain as much as on card autograph. Yordan cards are kinda cheap. Again, sell peak and buy low.
I do my share of Bowman Chrome but I never seem to get any good hits. I'm actually ripping into some Topps series 2 that arrived this morning. Chasing the Cam Smith short print. Although I'm not a fan of series 2. I have a live pull this evening of Topps Chrome jumbo boxes. Funny story my first 1/1 was an Autograph Mark McGwire. Sadly it was Don Russ. Ooof Next 1/1 was better. Ozzie Smith from Topps. He has the cleanest auto out there. He was doing his back flip on the card.
