It seems like Diaz is at his worst in the cleanup spot. edit: nevermind he hits .275 there it’s the 5th spot where he is terrible
Yeah I think it’s pretty clear that Diaz and Walker are not hitters you want regularly slotted into the top 4 of the lineup. If those guys are in the 7-9 holes you have one of the deepest lineups in the league, if they are 5 or 6, they’re just fine, but if they are 2,3, or 4, the lineup is probably weak.
Career OPS vs LHP: Chas: .868 (5-14, 2 2B, BB this season) Taylor: .415 (2-8, 1 2B, BB) It's not that eyerollery
It’s Hummel that needs to be benched. He’s terrible and not a good defender. At least we could run Chas in LF and Trammell in CF…
I get Chas has hit lefties in the past, but is his offense that much of a game changer to keep Trammel’s defense from being in center? I’d much rather have Trammel’s defense in center even if you told me he went 0-4 today due to facing a lefty, which certainly isn’t a guarantee. If you felt you needed chas’ offense, let him play left and take Hummel out of the lineup.
Feel free to eyeroll but his OPS is .938 this season against lefties. And .868 career vs LHP. This scrub lineup needs every small advantage it can get.
Altuve looks terrible in LF. Chas looked terrible 1st inning yesterday over-running a ball. Cam might be our best OF.
