Bartolo Colón? Yainer Diaz? Marwin Gonzalez? I'm sure this was in jest, but for historical interest, Cristóbal Colón's grandchildren were born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His grandson Luis Colón, Duke of Veragua, was arrested for polygamy and banished to Algeria, He had quite a few children, so I'm sure many Dominicans and a lot Panamanians ,where some of his great-grandchildren were born, are descendants of Christopher Columbus
And that's the biggest lie of all! Like most true poasters, you absolutely love typing long missives for no one's sake but your own love of the game. Hahaha come on man.
Sounds like NYC will be the utopia all leftist dream off. I highly encourage every leftist to move to the new utopia especially the ones in the greater Houston area. Just think how great it will be. You can leave all of us capitalist here in Texas to live in misery.
Whoa there. Specs or Total Wines is 1000% better than the state liquor stores. The state stores have a tiny selection of wines and 99% of it is too cheap for my palate. I can find wine from most of the French chateaus that I have visited at Total Wines. At the state stores I hope you like Two Buck Chuck. But seriously the state liquor stores are AWFUL. There's a reason why they need laws prohibiting competition for them to exist. Put a Specs next door to the state store and the state store's business goes to zero. GOOD DAY
Honestly, in my lifetime I never expected to find a single person who prefers a state run liquor store to a Specs. It's like saying you prefer the bathrooms at the Greyhound bus station to those at Buc-ee's.
I agree with TJ here. I have to deal with the Virginia ABC store and it sucks. The only thing I prefer about them is that they run lotteries for hard-to-fond bottles and don't sell them at a markup. Everything else is worse than Spec's and Total Wine.
Crank up the marketing, crank up the humor, crank up the smiling-while-talking sales pitch... ANYTHING to distract from Mamdani's policies. His policies are failures. To think that the world's leading financial city could be run by a socialist is mind boggling. Study what happened in Chicago. Debt service and pension payments now take up over half of tax revenue. Boeing, Caterpillar, Citadel, Guggenheim Partners, TTX and Tyson Foods have moved their headquarters or significant parts of their presence in Chicago out of the city. The Chicago Stock Exchange is moving to Dallas. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is considering a move to Texas. This is coming to NYC if Mamdani becomes mayor. If you take financial services out of NYC, their economy will collapse. More now than ever, high earners and business owners have the capability to move their residence and move their business. If NYC continues down a socialist-run path, in 10-15 years it will be a hollowed out shell of itself. Good news for those who invest in Texas. GOOD DAY
I was in North Carolina last year and I liked the state store but I was buying basic stuff I would suspect you would want to go to a wine specialty store regardless if you're looking for exclusive wine. I don't get wine, never had any really exclusive wine but outside of really cheap wine, it all tastes the same to me whereas there is a big difference in really good whiskey but the difference is really in the smoothness if that's a word
NYC councilwoman warns Mamdani victory will drive away key voting bloc: 'Afraid to live here' NYC Councilwoman Inna Vernikov, who is Jewish, called elected Democrat support of Zohran Mamdani 'disgusting' https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ny...l-drive-away-key-voting-bloc-afraid-live-here
If the ABC store is so bad, why don't you simply drive across to the border to Maryland to the Total Wine? Or to DC? Oh that's right because it's more expensive in both places! A bottle of Jack Daniels that sells for $ 33 at an ABC store will go for $35+ if you go across to DC or MD not including tax. (In NYC this bottle will go for $40 or more). Total wine's are nicer, but who cares? I ain't gonna pay 10-15% more for wood floors & muzak. I used to be repulsed by the grim fluorescent lighting and the beige walled abc stores but guess what - the job of the liquor is to **** you up in the comfort of your own home! Also it makes you think you're a degenerate alcoholic just by going in - this is good! Especially at these prices.
I mainly don't want to deal with the traffic getting into DC from VA. That said, I did find a liquor store in Georgetown that sells Lagavulin 16 for about $15 cheaper than I see at the ABC store.
I will admit, some of his suggestions have failed in other places - but what's happening is important. Both parties need to take note. Crony capitalism needs to die. P/E pooling money and making our money worthless needs to end. Printing money to send to Israel needs to end. Politicians listening to Goliath corporations and not people needs to end. China buying the NY real estate needs to end.
