We had the terror twins, what do you call this pair? I actually like Tate as an emergency rotation player. Not sure why we needed another.

Combine measurements: 6'3 barefoot; 6'4.5 in shoes; 7'0 wingspan; 8'6 standing reach. Checks out.

Many people wanted the Rockets to run it back and continue to develop the youth. Thats essentially what they're doing.

If Amen and/or Reed dont take a leap there isnt a free agent out there that would save this team if KD gets hurt. They obviously believe in Amen and Reed (and feel comfortable with Holiday getting spot backcourt minutes).

Anyways, at least we dont have to worry about Jalen going off on us when we play the Suns:)
We just got our JG stopper :D

I really think OKC's defense this past season made an impression on Ime and Stone. OKC demonstrated during the regular season that constant smothering, contesting defensive pressure will often break teams, creating more easy wins and more wins in general. The opponent's frustration was often visible.
More importantly, in the playoffs, this level of defense keeps games close when the offense goes south for stretches.

I must say, after watching OKC last year, this excites me. The concern many have about offense is legit, but you can't assume all of the youngsters will flatline. If the youngsters collectively grow (or a couple of them break out), it's all good, with KD as a giant cherry on top.

Caring about the 14th and 15th man and acting like this is the one person that puts us over the top is the sign of a great offseason.

    Thank goodness for Stone.

One thing I do like about this signing is that he is only 26. He may not have peaked yet as a player.

And TBH, his three point volume and percentage did go up last season. He took 9.0 three point attempts per 100 possessions. By comparison, Tate was sitting on 3.8 attempts. Okogie also posted a career high in 3P%, which yes, was only 34.8%. (Identical to Tate's on more than double the attempts.)

There are times when players suddenly figure out their jump shooting in their late 20s. Dillon Brooks is an example of a guy who drastically improved his 3P% around this age.

So, there's at least a possibility his shooting will be better than we think. I suspect he only gets minutes during injuries/garbage time off the bat though.

We still are putting a lot of eggs into the Amen/Reed basket in terms of point guard play though. Okogie definitely is not a lead guard. To be honest, I'm cool with that for now--we need to see what we have.

    A scoring 2 would’ve been better but it’s good insurance I guess.

Good depth piece. Team is stacked and I echo that Reed will have a larger role.

I like the signing. He can hit open 3s at a acceptable rate when called upon to come in and shut somebody down for a few minutes. I like the entire offseason thus far. We can never have enough perimeter defenders on the squad. We got some dawgs that will know their roles. The NBA is a perimeter league now and we have several really good options to defend all of that. Yes, we will need guys like Smith Jr, Reed, and Eason to be consistent with their shooting, but I think they can get it done. Amen will be a little bit better as well. AND WE GOT kd!

    I approve of this message.
Okogie plays under control, knows his role, good D, and did shoot well with PHX within the flow.
