I agree with you, only thing is he hasn't really added anything to the debt as of now. Whether he does in the future is TBD.

The fact that she's a dumbass makes me a bigot? OK

I dont care if her skin color was green she would still be a dumbass. MTG is also a dumbass, does that make me a bigot towards white people?

My life is fine, I've got my son coming down from Cambridge soon to run my business and in the latter part of 2026 I'm looking forward to doing some traveling, even traveling abroad. Life is good, I sincerely hope your life is good too.

    All I'm saying is

    1. The woke Ivy league education isn't what it used to be.

    2. POTUS from both sides of the isle either graduated from Ivy League schools or like in the case of Biden were affiliated with an Ivy League school. Penn is one of the places Biden hid the documents he stole. (In addition to his garage)

What do you disagree about in these statements? This isn't a partisan thing.

    This is wildly, fantastically untrue.

Old Mad King Don has signed into law huge tax cuts for the top 1% in both of his terms (even though he ran twice on being the voice of the "every man"). The tax cut from his first term has added trillions of dollars to the national debt. The tax cut he just sign will do the same.

The real kicker for both Trump Top 1% tax cuts is that both were added in good economic times (low inflation, high employment, solid GDP). The tax cuts were/are a stimulus for an economy that did not need it.

And what are the top 1% going to do with more money (that they are getting from the tax cuts)? Give a man who is living paycheck to paycheck (50+% of Americans) an extra dollar and he will spend it. Give a rich man a dollar and he will most likely save it. There is economic stimulus in the former (spending) and not much in the latter (saving).

What the top 1% tax cut represents is a return of campaign donations to the top 1% ... for pennies on the dollar. Good deal, if you can get it.

You made the point that Ivy League grads are responsible for the $30+ trillion debt. A better argument is that the filthy rich are more responsible, seeing how they got huge tax breaks from Reagan, W and now Trump.

    Feelings over intellect.

Social media has made people believe opinions are as good as facts when they aren’t even close.

    I didn't read through this

You do know the tax cuts haven't taken place yet, although they will be taking place in the near future.

    Sigh.

The tax cuts from the Trump's first term was set to expire. FTR those tax cuts were active for the Trump's first term and Biden's full term.

The tax cuts from the Trump's second term is the continuation of the tax cuts set to expire.

@Rileydog theres nothing funnier than MAGA talk about "elites" while they worship the most corrupt elite admin in modern history. More billionaires in Trump's administration than any other admin in history.

The stable genius dip$hit is going to make drug companies pay us to take their meds....

“We’re gonna get the drug prices down. Not 30% or 40%, which would be great. Not 50% or 60%. No, we’re gonna get them down 1,000%, 600%, 500%, 1,500%,” Trump said at a Republican dinner. “Numbers that are not even thought to be achievable.”

Hmmm, I wonder why numbers like that are not even thought to be achievable...

    IDIOT

Trump says import restrictions will reduce drug prices

Not entirely true. Some were retroactive. R&D deduction was retroactive to 2022 (Never should have gone away, at least for small business). Increased standard deduction, child tax credit, overtime deduction, tips deduction, & senior deduction were retroactive to January 1, 2025

The weather in Denmark is **** from October to the end of March. It is overcast and grey, rainy and cold for half the year. When I was in Denmark, the lack of sunshine was very depressing and difficult. The common retort to dealing with the lack of sunshine is alcoholism.

There are things that I liked about Denmark, I admire the social nets they have - but for me personally, it ranks below some other places to live. The people also can come across as cold and they don't tend to have a lot of deep relationships in my experience.

Huh? Ivy Leagues have always been the elite for the elite. In the past, those that came from wealthy families or were legacies had a lot easier time getting into these schools. Through the 1950's, pedigree and not brilliance was the easiest way to get accepted to the schools. Now, most elite Ivy League schools can be very selective about whom they take, it is no longer just from a "proper family". This is a good thing as a number of brilliant students that otherwise would never even be considered, are now breaking into the schools like Harvard and Yale.

As for foreign students - last I checked, around 10% of Harvard and Yale was made up of students that are not US citizens. About half of those students eventually either become US citizens or work in the USA on long term visas. This is very important, because essentially, the USA is taking the "best" from the rest of the world, educating them and then keeping half of them. That is reverse brain drain and one of the reasons that the USA has an advantage.

Also - top tier Ivy League schools don't really need more money, they have enormous endowments.

As far as antisemitism is concerned, I do not believe that all of those that are critical of Israel are anti-Jew. However - I will admit that at least some of those that protest for Palestine are antisemitic and it is a huge issue in the Arab world. Having said that, antisemitism is nothing new, and that includes on the campuses of places like Harvard and Yale.
