.522 TS%, .476 eFG%, .286 3p% Rookie Jalen Green was more efficient than that on higher volume on a bottom feeding team coached by Stephen Silas. And Rockets fans have been crying about Jalen's inefficiency and wanted him off the team. What would people think of Castle's offensive chops if he was on the Rockets?
Gary Payton Glove the Senior was one of the better players who hailed from an era of non shooting. Castle would fit right in, but yeah, the Rockets would have a problem with non shooting. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/paytoga01.html Castle is an allround defender and player, the only thing he is not good at is shooting, he is probably a poor guard version of Amen.
He had one of the highest 3 Point Attempt Rate for that era.....lol 4-6 Attempts per game. He was just Dell Curry who could not shoot well. He sure attempted as many shots as Old Curry if not more.
For that kind of shooting profile to be any impactful, you need to have at least one area that is top of the stack. Unfortunately he has NONE. and playing like Chris Paul, come on man
The 30 year old version of Chris Paul not the Younger, Faster 20 year old. Stephon Castle does play like Chris Paul. especially the Midrange and Floater Game.
We gave Jalen Green 4 years to see what hes got. Got to give Reed at least 3. I do think Reed is going to break out and be a vital part of our starting line up soon. But he needs to play starter minutes and get a lot of reps.
He needs 4,085 minutes this year to equal the time on the court Jalen was given to develop his first two years. That's not even possible. Even if his minutes are doubled going forward he wouldn't even reach that many minutes by the end of his 3rd year. But, on the bright side it's also not even remotely possible for him to miss 1,012 shots from behind the arc his first two years like Jalen did.
