The Astros have almost run out of players. What is wrong with their conditioning program and medical staff? Their injury management is abysmal.
Only caveat would the the downtime in-between innings, and what effect that has on a guy Also, if you want to know how often they've pitched multiple innings, look up about 7 posts from yours
The saddest part is that it's not like there's a few regulars sitting on the bench. They're all in rehab. I give Espada s!!t for in-game stuff regularly, but I'm actually amazed the team is sitting where they're at right now. The manager and coaches absolutely have something to do with that.
What it feels like and what it is typically are not the same, especially as fans. I'm on both sides in that I can see why he does it, but I don't like it. Therefore, when he does do it and it doesn't work out, I'm not going to post "see, what a dumbass". Why Abreu is a complete mess against the AL west is maddening.
With pitchers you can't go by numbers on a spreadsheet, it really just depends on the eye-test. You can tell when they're struggling/gassed/whatever when it comes to stuff/location/and especially mechanics. You also can't always/mostly trust what a pitcher says, almost every one of them will fight you whenever you mention coming out of the game. I didn't realize this. Now you've sent me down another stat rabbit hole. Thanks, buddy
Please nothing but quick-twitch reaction plays, ala Mike Lamb. If you give him a second to think he'll **** it up.
Didn't have any choice once Short was a gametime scratch. I'm assuming they thought that would be a possibility (plus the Paredes hammy), hence the Whitcomb callup last night.
