This may have been Morey's most genius idea, and if he had come over, his fit on the roster would have been stellar. I wish Stone could look overseas to add more shooting/guard play for our "stay ready" squad. There must be someone in Australia, Turkey, or even Finland who would jump at the chance to join the NBA and add shooting to our team.
I'm somewhere between. I haven't entirely given up on him and am still hopeful, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that I believe in him.
Probably Zach Edey, but it was a really brutal year for rookies, it was considered a one player draft by many.... and that player barely played.
I think it's pretty much a guarantee if Sheppard gets picked by a team other than the Rockets, he's the ROY.
Why? If he was drafted by a different team, like b the Spurs for example, he gets all the playing time in the world which is all he needed to win ROY in a class full of awful players
Yeah I agree here. Bronny has surprisingly shown much more growth than Reed this summer. Not looking good.
I keep telling people. We have some of the worst developmental staff I have ever seen. Cp3 just confirmed it.
I really wouldn't put too much stock in that. He wasnt even close to the best rookie just the one with the longest leash. Basically the Spurs treated him like Jalen Green.
Reed Sheppard's offensive game does not as strong as I had hoped. He took a long time to get his shot going in the first Summer League game and never got going in the second. He also does not seem to get by his defender very well so far. He has to be able to come into the game locked in and not need 7 or 8 shots before he starts hitting them at a high rate. On defense he seems pretty solid, but it seems like he has trouble staying in front of guys sometimes and ends up gambling on the steal from behind. I'm not sure he is ready for a lot of playing time yet.
Playing 81 games and putting up those numbers is convincing enough. Especially hitting over 40% FG. Argue with a wall.
